    SAA A340-300 vs Qantas 747

Hi pjohn. I have flown both routes. And I can say that overall I preferred the QF direct route. The change over at Perth can be painful transferring over from domestic to international. One thing about SAA is that the J section is better as there is more leg room and the fully flat bed is...

    WP perks when in whY

I find that I get no love as a wp flying qf or BA in Y. But for some reason do get the love as an emerald flying AA,LA, and CX? Love in this instance translates to op ups and personal greetings. Not sure why qf don't seem to want to share the love with me? Do they instead opt to do the same for...

    Airline Experiences 2010

Thankfully the US landing cards are no longer required for Australians. The ETSA on line registration is sufficient these days. For those still requiring to fill them out, the best way I found was bottom up otherwise you can misjudge the lines to be filled.

    Airline Experiences 2010

I am fairly new to this forum, but have enjoyed reading people's experiences and questions throughout the year. I thought I would share my overall personal experiences of airlines I have flown this year. I fly a lot. I averaged an international flight every 2 weeks in 2010. Various airlines...

Retaining Platinum Status without flying Qantas

No I haven't. I probably would have a good shot of retaining WP as I am only 1 segment short. But I have a spare day in sydney so flight to CBR will take the decision away from QF.

Retaining Platinum Status without flying Qantas

Thank you appreciate the gesture. I will be flying to SYD-CBR return during my only day in Oz next month as a segment run. I feel that going to such lengths to retain WP is probably an unhealthy dependence.:)

Retaining Platinum Status without flying Qantas

To be fair that comparison is not really relevant. Someone can fly SYD-CBR return twice (and get 4 Qantas segments) and then do some cheap YUP/KUP status runs in the USA to attain/retain Platinum status while other people spend $20,000+ on two SYD-LHR returns in business class and only...

Ha! I like the way you think. Not a bad option I suppose. Thanks

Retaining Platinum Status without flying Qantas

Thank you for the welcome and advice. Let me run a scenario by the community. If I am flying QF long haul on 3 different segments (D class) and I reach balance of WP status requirements through other one world airlines, I miss out on retaining wp. But if person x flies return SYD-CNB economy...

Retaining Platinum Status without flying Qantas

Hi, first time user. I just wanted to ask the community whether I am entitled to retain my platinum status by only flying one world airlines? It looks like I will be able to attain the required status points by year end, but I did read a clause on the QF website that I had to fly at least 4...
