    Great qf service

Got to experience a landing at SY the jumpseat of an Ansett 727 when I was young. Shame my daughter won't get the same opportunity :( Speaking of which, she's 10 weeks old now, and the wife and I have each flown CBR-ADL with her twice. The QF FAs have been outstanding, and have really gone out...

Work paying for F and J flights

You can still do ODUs, just don't expect your agency to pay. I pretty much always get an ODU (with my own points mind you) when I fly CBR-PER or SYD-PER, it's not a fun flight in Y in a 737. Federal government SES Band 1 and above get to fly internationally in F. I really fail to see a...

Work paying for F and J flights

Federal government SES band 1 and above get CL automatically, even those who have the reigns on travel budgets nothing like $1m.

Work paying for F and J flights

Public servant. So in reality, *you* pay for my flights in J :) (All our international flights are J, for OH&S reasons apparently. No complaints from me.)

    How many SC's for 2010

    620. Just enough to hang on to SG  It's about all I earn every year, from an international trip in J and a handful of domestic flights in Y.

New cringeworthy QF John Travolta safety video

No idea who he is specifically but Chief Pilot is a special title, it refers to a single person in the company with certain responsibilities defined under various bits of legislation and the company's Air Operator's Certificate.

QFF Gold to Platinum Difference Noticed

I'm not WP, but I fly often with a colleague who is. Never seen him get the greeting, but then again we're always on peak flights in and out of CB that always have at least half a dozen CL up the front in J. For that matter, I've noticed the CLs rarely get the in-seat greeting if there's more...

New Next Gen Card and Bag Tags have arrived!

Saw a WP in CBR the other day with two WP tags on his cabin bag. The ultimate in DYKWIA.

    "Enjoy your journey"

Varies from flight to flight. I've never heard it, and I've been on quite a few peak flights in and out of CBR where most of J has been CL.

    Apples here there and everywhere

QF's macs have the full sized keyboard, not the compact layout seen here. These keyboards do have the delete key

    QFF Ideas & Suggestions

I only ever have one bag and I put it under the seat, so I've never found it to be an issue. YMMV of course.

    QFF Ideas & Suggestions

Flew MEL-CBR yesterday morning (in J with most of parliament, rather have sit with the honest folks in Y ), and they called for "business, gold and platinum" (and I assume CL) to board first at the same time as the rear rows. I don't see the point, I just take a seat and leisurely join...

    QFF Ideas & Suggestions

DJ already do it here, or at least they have the handful of times I've flown with them. You go out onto the aerobridge, and there's signs saying rows 1 to 18(ish) turn left and board as normal, all others turn right, go down the stairs, across the apron and up the stairs into the back door of...

Tier Matching at DJ - Oct 2010 [Offer closed]

re: Tier Matching at DJ Not completely closed, it seems! I sent an email to DJ right before this offer died. DJ replied today, out of the blue, asking: * Name * Current QF status * Contact number * Contact email * Velocity number * Company name * Job title / position in the company Plus a...

New Next Gen Card and Bag Tags have arrived!

The CL tags are black. Nice way to blend in with a black suitcase :)

    Next Generation Check In

I'd say so. When I landed on QF10 in Melbourne yesterday morning, my J tagged bags were *first* onto the carousel, out before any of the F or priority bags. I dropped off my bags in LHR about 4 hours before departure. All bags after mine were a mix of F/J with a couple of random untagged bags...

OLCI - What's the point? Shocking seat selection

I've gotten some pretty amazing seats on international J back before I was in QFF. Rows 23 and 11 on B744, for example. The fact I was on a full J ticket paid for by a company that spends many millions per year with QF might have had something to do with it, don't know.

Qantas Airways Ltd. is revamping business-class services

The new CBR QP is the second largest in Australia, apparently. I'm looking forward to checking out the new J lounge this Friday.

    Canberra Trip [Eating tips]

I go to L'unico pretty often, at least once a fortnight. They've been excellent in all cases, with the exception of one particular waiter who isn't terribly flash.

New Next Gen Card and Bag Tags have arrived!

I can think of a big one. There's a barcode on the back of the tag. If the RFID inside the tag quits with the tag remaining otherwise intact, that's plan B for QF to identify your bag. If the tag is inside a pocket, they can't scan the barcode.
