    JQ25 MEL - CNS warning....

Agreed, it is not a way to publicise things -- just to get redress for shoddy treatment.

    JQ25 MEL - CNS warning....

A person I know sued Jetstar over a cancellation and sought discovery of documents regarding the reasons for cancellation. He suspected that the cancellation did not fall within the Jetstar terms (as they were then, not sure if they have changed). Maybe that is one way to go - a small court...

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

Good news, finally. My Amex Explorer gives 2 passes in the AMEX Lounge in Melbourne. So at least I have a backup if we can't talk our way into either of the QF lounges. As an aside, the QF booking difficulties continue -- practically, the only way I can book all QF/3K flights on the out leg...

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

Thanks Mattg. Unfortunately there is no direct flight on the day we need to travel, so we have to go via Melbourne, Sydney or Perth. It would be a much easier decision if it was between a 7 hour flight and a 16 hour trip.

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

The passes might be clear, I have never seen one. The web page isn’t clear because it only refers to “eligible flights", but doesn't define the term. I assume that comes up when you request a pass.

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

Thanks Mattg. I was really hoping to avoid that. It adds 4 hours and a stop to the travel time, and I didn't enjoy my last time on Jetstar 3K. That was a few years ago, though. Has it improved? It also means a 6.30am first flight. :(

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

One more ... As QF silver my wife each can get a lounge pass, but I can't find a clear answer whether they can use that for the int business lounge if we are flying out on MH. Is there a rule about that?

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

Sorry to keep this going, but reading again it appears that this child counts as guest policy also applies to the international business lounge too. Is that right? In that case, I have effectively NO lounge access at all, because I obviously can't leave either of my family members outside. Is...

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

Thanks all. It is disappointing if we can't all get into the F lounge, but Katie has confirmed what I feared. The QF options to KL are not good (especially starting in ADL). I would happily book a direct-to-KL codeshare from SYD or MEL if there was one - does anyone know of one on another...

Family guesting into Melbourne First lounge

I will be travelling ADL-MEL-KUL in October and would like to try out the first lounge for the first time. Just reached platinum recently. I will have my wife and 13yo daughter with me. As I read the rules, I can bring them both in if travelling on a QF flight. However, the planned flight...

QF Double Status Credits - Book by Feb [Now] 25, Travel Feb 25-Aug 31, 2019

After a US trip in January and another to Hawaii in April, I will be 340SC short of Platinum. My year ends 31 May. This is my best chance to hit platinum for once in my life. I have checked out the best status run options, but I am having trouble finding one which is reasonable given my...

    AA status credits

Thanks serfty. That makes sense. Overall, given that I will romp it in to Gold, but still be a long way from Platinum, there is not much point in upgrading. My daughter will end up at 600SC after this, and she will still be 50 short of the loyalty bonus, so she needs another 50 on QF in any...

    AA status credits

I would be happy to take any advice, but from what I can see ORD is not an option on any 1 stop booking between those end points with any oneworld airline. At least, not amongst the dozens that google flights shows. I checked out the calculator page. It shows LAX to PHL at 80 status credits...

    AA status credits

I have a trip booked to the USA in December/January. I have two AA flights booked — LAX-PHL-BVT, and BVT-DCA-LGA. All of these are in US ‘first’ class (buckets I and D). I can’t work out from the QF website what the status earn is. I understand it is reduced a lot from the glory days, but...

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide I just did my third U-ASA over the phone. The first one was a trauma. The second was not too bad after a bit of initial confusion, but this most recent one was fantastic. The woman on the phone was quick, knowledgeable and...

Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Morally, I agree with you. There is too much government assistance for this and for that. It would be a lot simpler and cleaner if the government just kept out of it. It is easy for me to say that, as I can afford my family, and get no government 'hand-outs'. On the other hand, I have...

Please help me understand the Qantas booking page - upgraded or not?

I got the SMS at 5.30am to say the upgrade is confirmed. Unfortunately, there aren't three seats together, so we have 25A, B and J. That seems better to me than the original allocation of 25A and B, and 13E!

Please help me understand the Qantas booking page - upgraded or not?

Thanks. I just called. No help. All the person could or would tell me was to 'let it run it's course'. I am no wiser. I am keen to get in early to try to change seats to be together.

Trying to post screen shot again. I don't quite understand how the resizing operates or how to stop it.

Hong Kong customer service is not open (I tried). I didn't know if AU was.
