QFF Award CX flight confirmed and then wait listed, what are my next steps?

CX to reinstate - I have the same problem with Asia Miles for 24 Feb redemptions on CX too.

All International Arrivals into Australia to self isolate for 14 days

What’ the business looking for? A big fat China entry stamp or a Malpensa exit stamp? Would it completely blow the socks off the owner to find out I’ve another passport to hide them if I want to? Health cert: don’t get me started: Proper PCR swab tests are still in short supply so really...

All International Arrivals into Australia to self isolate for 14 days

Actually, after the drive-thru food discussion my involvement with this Australian thread should be done. But I do empathise with your post and the plight of stranded pax. I have some free time on my hands and I've been helping others work through the quarantine. I've helped extract a HKer out...

All International Arrivals into Australia to self isolate for 14 days

Thanks both. I was planning to survive off drive-thrus if I made it back over Easter. Obviously not happening now.

All International Arrivals into Australia to self isolate for 14 days

TW, MO and HK’s restrictions are announced as being effective midnight, being 00:00 - start of day. Hugely confusing if other jurisdictions use end of day convention.

All International Arrivals into Australia to self isolate for 14 days

(Plan has been called off but) if I am under self-isolation orders but I have access to a car, can I still access a drive-thru? I mean, it’s as little contact as an Uber Eats. In HK home quarantine tho, deliveryman is meant to leave food at the end of a corridor or a lift lobby, and you’re...

    Award booking cancelled without notice

BAEC can over the phone AM cannot (even in the second reissue) Also AM has three centres (Tsuen Wan Hong Kong, Manila and Beijing). Very hard to get policy updates thru.

    Award booking cancelled without notice

(I don't know about whether QF FF and AA but) that's going to be hard to negotiate with AM here. We can do all the emphasis we want and even make the agent read all the torrid history about the previous DOH-GRU booking (assuming we had one - so we all have to fail once!) and the agent will swear...

    Award booking cancelled without notice

My booking had CX, BA, LA and even JJ in addition to QR. None of the others had a problem when reissuing. I know long ticketing deadlines can be gamed, and these problems happen to grAAbers ticketing CX also. But 12 hours is more like a trap for unwary redeemers. Also this seems to be only...

    Award booking cancelled without notice

This thread has been mentioned in Loyalty Lobby (Reader Question: American Airlines Screws Up Qatar Airlines Award – Who Is Responsible To Fix?) And I've some previous experience with QR redemptions too, on Asia Miles not QF FF (Flyertalk AM/MPO treatment of dropped segments and QR sharp...

GlobalEShop for NAB American Express Card customers

Isn't GlobalEShop basically applicable for any AE card?

Has CBA implemented transaction fees for AUD transactions overseas?

Yes but the alternatives are to AE (should be DCC-free, but can't use everywhere, esp low margin, mum and dad shops) or cash up (notwithstanding the truly pitiful withdrawal limits Aus ATM cards have overseas). I did one Visa transaction tho, at Tib in SGN. No DCC there. In fact, doing some...

Has CBA implemented transaction fees for AUD transactions overseas?

I've just returned from SGN. I was trying out my brand new (HK) Standard Chartered Priority Banking ATM card, which is a PLUS card that promised no fees overseas (like fruit juice, I think they meant no *added* fees - they'll still pass the 1% from Visa/PLUS on). I was charged HK$2,046.03...

Has CBA implemented transaction fees for AUD transactions overseas?

Yep, DCC no doubt. Visa doesn't charge for this (I can't post links yet, but Google "Charge it but check the math" for a Washington Post article). Mastercard charges. HK issuer banks (HKG is my home now, used to SYD and my brother still lives there) don't charge extra for DCC use on their...
