Just adding on here rather than starting a new thread. So flew Virgin Melbourne-Queenstown and bags didn’t show up. There was about 12 of us affected. The virgin lady at baggage services said we could be compensated $50/day. But I’ve found no references to that amount on the Virgin website...

That makes sense. We have booked with Luxury Escapes and they (and the hotel), have been so good and sorted out the change in dates at no extra cost. Something is working!

U Unfortunately no- I have TI but cancellations due crewing is not covered- you have to chase the airline for faults within their control. Seems to be common exclusion amongst insurers

Have only ever flown J from PER to ZQN and made sure to choose VA for their a330 across to the east, then awesome Air Nz lounge, then VA across to ZQN. It’s a short trans Tasman flight so business not as lush as a330 but VA staff and service were always fantastic and memorable- really friendly...

What about if you use points for the work trip upgrade? Would that still be tax deductible? And if so what’s the conversion to $ ?

Thanks! Yes have an ANZ card already- it’s a good deal and no annual card fee for first year Broome...so cheapest flight anywhere is over $200 one way. Problem is work books the discount fares (earning 15 SC instead of 30 each way), so accumulating SC is now harder. I fly just over 20 times...
