St George Rewards Signature KrisFlyer Devaluation

I take your point levelnine. I realise the game has massively changed and it's just business. For most (even high income earners like yours truly), it's just not worth the bother any more. I'll survive, I'm just venting. But what I really take exception to is the fantasy created by the banks...

My humble apologies for being so selfish :)

St George Rewards Signature KrisFlyer Devaluation

Not sure where to vent, so I'll do it here. The credit card rewards programs are now nothing more than a scam. Way too many points chasing way too few available seats. Added to that is constant devaluation of points/miles value. Plus ATO easy points are long gone. Its incredible to remember...

KrisFlyer redemption rates increasing [from 5/7/22]

You can get the points, but they are worth less and less every year. And my gut feeling is there seem to be more points/miles out in the community. CC sign up bonuses are still pretty generous, but the conversion rates (points or miles per dollar CC spend) keep worsening. And seat availability...

KrisFlyer redemption rates increasing [from 5/7/22]

Ughhhh! It’s hardly worth bothering with these programs any more. Back in 2009 with my Westpac KrisFlyer Amex card I was getting 3 miles per dollar spend for the first 6 months. And I could use the card to pay my tax! All these programs are being progressively degraded to the point of why...

St George Amplify card - $139 for 90k points (discounted fee via specific link)

Hi Cove, I have a similar limit on my dragon. How much over the $20,000 can you load it up (e.g. to pay ATO)?

St George Amplify card - $139 for 90k points (discounted fee via specific link)

St George call centre seems to be doing everything they can to reject high income customers. They are clueless morons. I had a similar experience earlier this year with multiple emails with multiple proof of income documents sent. Took about 2 months and almost gave up. In the end I had to go...

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

I cancelled this week. $250 annual fee for borderline worth it ATO (Dragon Visa better) Only reason I hesitated was the 1.5 miles per $ overseas Visa spend. But not worth $250 a year for me. Hope Dragon stays ATO friendly, or I am toast!

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

Cheers, thanks Cove. Old news, but this guy had a good solution: Billionaire earns first-class travel for life by putting Modigliani nude on Amex Things are getting grim. I really can't see Mr and Mrs Ev dropping $20K on 2 Business Class plane tickets

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

I am also a KF fan Cove. So for ATO after Westpac Kris dies, Dragon Visa I assume? Mastercard not an option. Is there a good Amex ATO option left?

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

True, I haven't done a redemption flight lately.

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

I'm not great at maths, but I get a different figure for Option 2. For ATO payments assuming we are talking about the Amp Sig Visa, the effective earn is 0.825 KF miles per $ (with the 10% bonus) So 1007 dragon points is 830 KF miles. (For $7.80 CC surcharge) That means a cost of 0.94c per KF...

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

Anyone think it is worth $250 annual fee to keep the Krisflyer Platinum Visa? Would only be for the 0.5 KF miles per $ ATO (Effective 1.5c surcharge cost per KF mile) Also 1.5KF miles per $ overseas spend (Not a large amount for me). I will probably get the dragon Amp Sig for ATO, as far as I...

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

Thanks Cove I guess the effectively 0.825 KF miles per $ With Amplify Signature is the best I will now get for a Visa or MC uncapped I will still use the Westpac Platinum Visa for 0.5 KF miles per $ at ATO (Very annoying the ATO surcharge for Visa has gone up) I think the 1.5 KF miles per $...

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

Thanks, pretty annoying news. Is it worth using the Visa for ATO? Also don’t forget Visa is still 1.5 KF miles per $ Overseas

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

    True, I miss-read.

    Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

Seems strange they would update conditions of use on an old card like this if nothing has really changed. Noticed international spend gets 1.5KF miles per $ on the Visa, but only 0.5KF miles for Amex. Not sure if that is new.

Citibank Signature replaced wih Visa Infinite (but not Prestige)

Does anyone know if we can just ignore and not activate the new cards and just keep using the fee free for life Citi Sig cards to their expiry date?
