We have stayed in the Transit hotels and they are good for 4-6 hours, if we have a longer stopover we take a taxi to Changi Village Inn, its a nice comfortable hotel, a bit dated but nice staff and good value, 2 pools and lots of places to eat within minutes. We get their free transit bus back...
