    yes, i agree that this is not the most direct route. However SIA offer the following on SQ metal MEL-SIN-FRA-JFK - 13970 Miles As opposed to Star alliance award: MEL-SIN-PEK-ICN-JFK - 13978 Miles So its virtually the same distance as SQ offer.

    I have an altitude platinum plus card. Received the letter saying that 'the changes should have very little effect on number of points you earn in the future". Having a look at my 2012 spend in one of the months i earned 58,000 points. so if the cap is applied i would forgo over 50,000 points...

    Under the rewards section it says Velocity is 1:1. Since the card offers 3:1$ then that makes it 3 velocity points per dollar. Welcome to Diners Club Australia
