Got stung by a rookie mistake [passport < 6 months to expiry]

Ok: 1998, we had been living in the UK for the past six months, had a summer hoilday booked in France, driving via the Chunnel. I got the passports out the night before and shock, horror, my 5yo daughter's was 3 months out of date. Desperate call to Australia House, rerouted to Canberra due to...

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

Well, sure, a nice bottle of wine would have been great - but nothing at all???

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

I passed 25 years with QFF last year. Have been variously Silver, Gold, Plat, now Lifetime Gold, virtually all done on discount economy (no paid First for me!) You would think that you'd get a little note from them for 25 years' 'service' but no, not a cracker. I reckon it's worth Lifetime Gold...

    Carry on Size Limits

Yes, sounds familiar. I'm stuck with it now anyhow, it went 'premium' from CBR to SYD and came out with black marks on it. Also now know that it fits nicely, sideways, in a QF 767 locker. And no-one batted an eyelid. Will know about the 737 in a week or so.

    Carry on Size Limits

John, I'm not sure that any of those spinner bags would go into the sizer. I've only ever been harassed about that or weighed at Perth international, for some reason. The bag I bought sounds similar in dimension to yours but says US compliant. I've seen people bring on bags in the States that...

    Carry on Size Limits

Thanks Jessica - yes, true. I want to avoid being one of the ones who's getting the dirty looks though!

    Carry on Size Limits

To be sure this sort of issue must have been discussed here before multiple times but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for... I bought a Victorinox Avolve 2.0 56cm cabin bag today. Doing a lot of domestic back and forth these days and I want to avoid checking luggage, so went for a bag on...

    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

I'm a bit bemused by the lack of any recognition in this new deal for WPs but in reality the current setup is reasonable. However, as a long-term QFF (unbroken since 1989) I think there could be a bit more recognition in that area. I am life Silver but I had done a heck of lot of miles before...

    BA Arrivals Lounge in LHR

Ok - went through again ex Houston in Economy two weeks back and gave it another run. This time they were nice but same result - she even checked with a supervisior somewhere else in the airport. But she did let me in 'just this once'. The cheat sheet appeared to have QF flights listed but...

    Singapore Airlines Online Redemptions

Anyone else ever have bother trying to book an upgrade online with SIA? Or is it just me? Just finding it used to be one thing....they have made it a bit easier but when I click on the icon in my booking it just tells me that they are unable to do it. If there are no seats available, why don't...

    BA Arrivals Lounge in LHR

Hmmm...last time I came in on QF the T4 lounge was still running - and they had no problems. The three times in T5 I was on BA, twice from Dallas/FW and once from Cairo (which is maybe not quite long haul). All economy, all admitted with a smile.

    BA Arrivals Lounge in LHR

Further to the previous posts - I am a QF plat and have used the Termainal 4 Arrivals lounge several times before it was closed, travelling economy. I like it because I often go through Heathrow with a morning arrival and afternoon or evening departure. You can sort yourself out in the morning...
