A very long run comes to an end...

Exactly the same situation I had 10 days ago - Cairns to Canberra via Brisbane and they cancelled the outbound Brisbane/Canberra leg sometime during the evening before a 5.30am takeoff. From then on the charade I endured was identical to your description.

A very long run comes to an end...

Similar story/history - original poster in Perth I am in Cairns. Been a member since 1997, however in recent years I have found the price and service (depending on the flight crew/airport staff) to be well below what I am prepared to pay/put up with. I still use Qantas domestically but have not...

    CitiBusiness Gold 'no longer available'

I am having similar problems with citi gold, missing points and the change over to a new card. Does any one know of an Australian number I can call??? I am rapidly moving towards giving them the flick after 11 years Regards

Free upgrade to Citibank Signature Visa

I am of the same view. I received my upgrade card on the 22nd with a Nov 4 date. My call to Citibank has not cleared up the issue about points and I am not convinced that by the middle of 2012 the new card will not be reduced to a ratio of 2;1 I am in the same position as most of you after...

    Red Roo, Where are you?

Red Roo, you may be able to answer this one for me as both staff on the Qantas frequent flyer number and the normal JetStar number have been of little help: I am currently putting together a couple of award flights in the system for the middle of next year out of Cairns and I can not access...

    Building a stronger Qantas

Could well be. However, the sentence structure and composition of her writing is consistent across the majority of postings I have read. Perhaps there are a number of different posters? In which case I would suggest they all attended the same Qantas "How to write course 101". To return to the...

I thought that after her first post on this forum and Flyertalk. Still of the same opinion.

    Building a stronger Qantas

I agree, this is an excellent post as I often hit a wall when I end up with other One world carriers "Seamless, guys, seamless. All we ask is that is all just "works" - no mess, no fuss" This is what I expect as a customer - a seamless travel experience throughout the group based around me...

    Building a stronger Qantas

As a long term Ansett top tier flyer I well remember that period. I used my considerable number of points up this morning and put one Europe and one USA flight for our family into the system for 2012

New Next Gen Card and Bag Tags have arrived!

My wife is flying out of Newman this morning and across to Cairns Although she has my bags, I make sure she is flying with the old tags. Less hassle and the bags arrive, as a rule, in the same place and time as we do.

Why fly business? I don't see the value?

My international travel is always self paid flights. The plane flight is just a means to get there. My holiday starts when I/we arrive at our destination. Always travel international in the economy cabin.

    Now You're Flying Virgin Australia

Would have to have a better chance as they started from a lower base - green field type of model. They do not have the baggage of the Qantas model internationally and TAA domestically which started life as a Government airline (read public service). Virgin had the advantage as starting as a...

Qantas Introduces New Domestic Fares and Further Frequent Flyer Enhancements

I have been gold for around 7 years and have only been able to gain minimum domestic upgrades at the Qantas lounge before flying. Not sure on numbers but would have to be no higher then 20%. Not sure how the changes will affect me, but starting from a low base anyway I am not hopeful.

Qantas Introduces New Domestic Fares and Further Frequent Flyer Enhancements

I would agree with that. Over the years my card spend to flights on gaining points has generally been around the 60%

QF CEO speech - dom fare restructure/profit update/RR settlement& Int Route changes?

Re: QF CEO speech - dom fare restrucure, profit update, RR settlement, Int Route chan The speech at the press club left more questions hanging out there then answers IMO. I think we will have to wait to August to find out fact from rumour and supposition. Over the years regardless of what...
