Oh you mean just do MEL > Tokyo return rather than back out through Osaka? Yeah those fares come up a little cheaper again in PE.... Only issue is there is a 14 hour layover in HKG on the way back at night time so not much to do except book in to a hotel?

OK I am finally getting somewhere with organising this trip. Got a quote of around $4000 ex tax Perth-Auckland-LA in Y+.... but get this, the Y+ cabin is only available on the AKL-LAX leg but you still have to pay for the Y+ from Perth to AKL. That is a bit of a rip dont you guys think?
