Anyone flying QF93 tomorrow (29th Sept) the fllight has been delayed from 1010 to 1850...

Really dissapointing for me as my number one highlight was to be flying on the A380 and now i have jumped on QF107 from Sydney to ensure I dont end up losing a day in NYC...

Its a real shame as I was really looking forward to it..

Hopefully qantas will compensate me with a cheap flight to singapore or something so i can still experience the plane...

Not sure about the compensation issue Tim, it normally accompanies some suffering or damage.

Ask to be put on QF 11 leaving at 1305? Not sure of your connection to JFK though. There are seats on QF 11 but not sure of your class.

However just flown the flight then onto NYC and I arrived quite refreshed. The A380 cabin is quiter and with forward Y being quiter than down the back (forward engines).

A little more humidity in the cabin makes things more comfortable.

I would write to QF and let them know of your disappointment.

Hope that helps.

Tim Nitschke,

Welcome to AFF. :D

I would say your chances of any real compensation for an 8 hour delay is just about zero though we can all live in hope.

Thanks for the welcome guys...

I have been lurking for a long time.

Been excited about this trip for quite some time, been researching the A380 for months...

I suppose my biggest gripe is that I feel that the A380 was great value for money and thats why i booked that ticket..

At the end of the day I dont really expect anything however I have relayed my dissapointment to Qantas via a email and IF they do offer me a reasonable airfare to singapore on the A380 then that would be appreciated otherwise it looks like waiting 18 months until we fly to london for our honeymoon...

To add insult to injury though it appears we have been given back row seats in the 747 which seatguru tells me is the worst seat on the 747... grrr.. will try and sort something out in the morning...

any explanation for the delay??

i'm on qf93 on friday - so likely to be the same plane!

Yep, and consequently they closed the F lounge just on the day I'd arranged for a JQi run.

Bugger.

Hope you have better luck on the way back. :)
