Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

- J return Classic reward SYD-BLR in July (As Points Club I still get SCs and I think it is 112 each way and that becomes 224).
Does SYD-BLR (and presumably MEL-DEL) actually earn 112 each way with points club? If so, that seems like a major sweetspot (given that the only other routes which are 112 each way are LHR/CDG/FCO/JFK which are all significantly longer).

No bookings during this DSC for me (not even a new PNR!) for the first time in about 8 years as both Mrs sudoer and I will be applying for Status Hold.

Apparently I'll be starting my next membership year with my current SC balance (2500) so I'll have a pretty good stab at P1 in my 25-26 membership year and will no doubt be using the next DSC!

No chance. It's likely 58 SC 56 SC

I've re-read the post you quoted and @NSun mentioned 112 SC for the return trip - but I think it'll be 116 as above. I have terrible eyesight.

Just to clarify and consolidate the correct process for those of use who no longer wish to fly within central Qld on our Flex tickets but who wish to use that booking reference for something more lucrative, DSC speaking. Is this the correct way to do things?

Press the Cancel/Voucher button (rather than the Change button) in Manage Booking on the Qantas website. Select the Flight Credit radio button. That will generate a flight credit that retains the original PNR and booking generation date in the system, engaging DSCs for the flights subsequently booked using that flight credit (provided that the new flights are QF operated and marketed, and depart before 14/2/25).

The flight credit can be redeemed via the link in the flight credit email, the Use Flight Credit tab on the Qantas homepage, or from within your QFF account online: see the step-by-step video at https://www.qantas.com/au/en/manage-booking/credit-vouchers.html.

There had been a mention upthread that a change to the origin/destination needed to be done over the phone in order to preserve the original PNR and DSC entitlement. I'm trying to get clarity for myself, and probably others, as to whether it is necessary to make origin/destination changes via a phone agent or whether the flight credit route described above is a safe way to radically change a booking without losing the DSC eligibility.

I'll also add my thanks here to the knowledgeable people who have shared valuable information throughout this thread. I appreciate it.

Ticketing is not the issue(in this case), but booking (PNR) creation is key. So if that is set up before 23:59 shoukd be fine.

This happened to me in the one of the three 2018 DSC offers. PNR and booking created before midnight but was ticketed after midnight. It ended up counting for DSCs.
 
Was the cancelation of the queensland trip supposed be done before midnight?

Yep that’s what I did last year and got double SCs this year. Can’t promise it will work forever, but that’s how its done. No need to call.

I would assume yes. Ticketing/payment date is separate. As long as the booking was made before midnight 27th feb it should qualify.

See the FAQ on "book now pay later" as example.

Hopefully DSC credits automatically, really don't want to contact their customer care...
