Woolworths gift card thread

Woolworths appears to have made some UX changes to the gift card portal which make managing gift cards more difficult.

After purchasing e-gift cards (WOW, WISH etc) you receive a link via email that looks like this:

View attachment 362638

Previously, clicking the link would display the card balance, transaction history and bar code which you could scan from your phone directly into the payment section of the EDR app.

Now when you click the email link on desktop you get no details of your gift card at all:

The link still brings up relevant details on iphone, but no matter how hard I try I can't make my phone bend so that the camera can take a photo of the screen.

So scanning new EGCs into the app appears to be dead and it's back to adding the gift cards to the EDR App the hard way. :(
Just print and use the hard copy. Much easier to manage that way in my experience.

I did that for a while but find the WW App easier to keep an eye on balances. It's a click on the email, paste then add the pin.

You need to do anything manually. There is a link to add the card directly to the Rewards app.

Nothing in the next Big W catalogue, I'm afraid.

Can you wait a few weeks? Because Woolworths has a habit of running a 20x points offer on Ultimate gift cards in late January:

Gift Card PromotionStartEnd
20x Everyday Rewards points on Ultimate Baby & Mum, Ultimate Kids, Ultimate Teens, Ultimate Student, Ultimate Active & Wellness and Ultimate Shopping gift cards25/1/202331/1/2023
20x Everyday Rewards points on Ultimate Him, Ultimate Her, Ultimate Active, Ultimate Beauty & Spa, Ultimate Style and Ultimate Home gift cards26/1/20221/2/2022

My faves are TCN Restaurant 20x, Perfect EFTPOS 10x, Luxury Escapes 20x and AirBnB 20x. I stock up on each of those when they come out.

I’m onto my last TCN Restaurant card and pretty soon I’ll only be getting credit card points for meals and coffees! ☹️

Come on!!

Can the your pick gift cards be exchanged part by part, like a prezee gift card, or only all at once? There's quite a bit of choice here so loading up might not be a terrible idea - though there's generally more points or discount to be had directly via discounted ww GCS or ultimate GCS etc.

I believe you can exchange up to a maximum of 5 cards with the Your Pick card, but I haven't done it myself.

From the website: "Your recipient can exchange their 'Your Pick' Gift Card for up to five Gift Cards at a time from over 40 brands."

Thanks - yeah it seems so, a bit more from the website:

1.When you purchase the 'Your Pick' Gift Card or receive it as a gift, you'll get an email or SMS with an unique link to access the Gift Card
2.When you open the ‘Your Pick’ Gift Card, you'll see the list of participating retailers' cards that you can redeem the 'Your Pick' Gift Card for. You'll also see the available balance on your card, as well as a button or a link to redeem the 'Your Pick’ Gift Card
3.When you click on the button or link, you'll be taken to the 'Your Pick' Gift Card portal. Here, you can choose the participating retailer's digital gift card(s) you want to redeem for, and the amount you want to load onto each card
4.Once you've made your selections, the participating retailer's digital gift card(s) will be delivered to you electronically via email or SMS

And from the t&c's further down, with important call outs about value under $1 and some of the swappable vendors only having fixed amounts

Participating Retailers offer different Digital Gift Card options - some may only support specific pre-set amounts, while others may allow you to set any value. As your Card Balance reduces, your accessible range of Redeemable Digital Gift Cards may also reduce. You can only Redeem for up to 5 Digital Gift Cards per Redemption Order.
5. There are no Digital Gift Cards below $1. If your Card Balance reduces below $1, you forfeit those funds. You cannot reload a Your Pick Gift Card.
