Stubborn Phil is still driving. Or perhaps “was”.
Snuck out for a leisurely drive in the Disco around Sandringham as you do and got Tboned by a Kia.
Anyway he’s Ok, but maybe not as Liz would have found out about it.
The Kia occupants OK too.

If Liz revokes his DL, it would be difficult for Phil’s staff to keep him occupied/contained. For years he has snuck out for a drive in his own British cab

Apparently Liz doesnt need a DL

The tricky question raised is the legal ramifications for Phil/Queens if someone died..

Given the strange way the world works, this accident has probably just increased the value of the Kia.

Now that the facts have emerged the Queen has no option but to rally the troops and remove him from public roads. He was so lucky that the baby and the other passengers were not more seriously harmed.

The Kia Range is not bad at all. The swept back Stinger is probably the best looking of the bunch sort of like a 2 door A5. The Carnival I think is the only decent people mover around.

So they should lock up all the UK cars and give Phil a Kia Cerato. He wouldn't be able to get in or out of it.

A very clever idea . The hatch or the sedan. But definitely not the GT version please. However Land Rover UK beat you to it and sent the exact same Disco he wrote off to Sandringham the very next day. Maybe they were concerned at the optics of a overturned Disco vs an upright Kia

Phil is driving again
Hopefully not on public roads. It’s an issue in Australia as well with ageing population. In SA though, whenever I get cut off and cars don’t share the road etc etc apart from the usual P driver antics, the age group I know I will find when this happens are males aged in their 70’s. I’m thinking retired and no longer in the work force (phew, there’s my out for drron) and so no longer able to rule the roost at work, or think they ruled the roost anyway. I wonder if they think they’ve paid their taxes all their lives and now own them! They are also the age group to be most dismissive of me, eg by pushing in front of me. Can only wonder what they are like with their wives. They are the same ones who go grocery shopping now with their wives and tell them what the can and can’t buy after years of the women making all the decisions themselves.

How else are they going to work / shop at Bunnings. Maybe they are out of the house trying to get some peace and quiet:p
After decades of being told what to do by said wives, I would understand they are now demanding a different brand at the shops :p

You only just got out of that one Pushka.but then the ones I have cutting me off or pushing in are often younger women-probably caught up with my assumed toxic masculinity.
Besides Mrsdrron is the one who decides what we get from the supermarket and indeed which supermarket.I am there to carry the bags and unpack the car when we get home-even though she says the kitchen looks like a pig sty every time I go there.:eek::D

The police and local council have apparently been dithering for several years about reducing the speed limit in that area.

Apparently they have now reduced the speed limit in that area and are going to put in some speed cameras (euphemistically calked road safety cameras).

Maybe they should also put up a sign. There ar all sorts of warning road signs. What’s would be one for that area?.
“Prince Ahead”? What would be the icon on the sign? A top hat?

Well yes, each gender and age group have their own peculiar behaviour. And it sounds like you have the grocery routine perfected :p.

I’ve found male drivers in their thirties to be the best :D Female drivers, and for my age I’d probably include myself in that, can be a little aggressive in their fast red cars.

This toxic masculinity has just gone completely overboard.

Having driven a Cerato for 10 weeks in Tassie I would rather get out of a Land rover's sunroof than the driver's seat of the Cerato.:Do_O

In Victoria one can contact VicRoads and ask for such ageing drivers to be taken off the roads. They can then however sit a new test and be given back their licence.

I gather many sons/daughters concerned at a parent's driving do this, often when the latter are say around 80.

Agree with Pushka that a surprisingly aggressive group of drivers, if we were to generalise, is women 21 to early/mid 30s. One of the most competent group of drivers seems to be Anglo males in their 40s/50s, although one suspects there's a risk that as they get into their 60s they become very complacent and some arrogant in their personal assessment as 'Kings of the road.'

Unfortunately a couple of ethnicities I can think of, one in particular, have a significant share of poor drivers, possibly to do with poor vision in part, but that's not a topic for here.

His Royal Highness should be off the road - permanently.

I fit in to that age group and I object to the broad brush . Of course, I no longer have a wife to be dismissive of.

I expect a groveling apology ;)

HRH did an eye test... apparently that was adequate. Not sure if a driving test is forthcoming

Said ethnic group drives Gold Camry?

HRH’s Disco ?some say Freelander is off road capable. Does the Lizzy have lands suitable for this?
