Hi there, any opinions on safety of Thai airways. Looking at flights from Melbourne to Vienna. Thai offers better price and schedule but they look to have been downgraded for safety?

Never thought about TG as unsafe airline.
Which safety issues did they have lately?

Thai are fine fly them a few times a year never any maintenance issues. No major incidents in recent years eithet

No problems at all. If flying economy I think they have one of the best products and service out there. If in business it has really improved over the past 24 months both hard and soft product. Their lounges in BKK are still coughe though.

agree. Their long haul business class is equivalent to first class just a few years ago.

For lounges, bypass the TG offerings and head for SQ. Chalk and cheese.

J lounges are nothing to write home about but they do offer complementary 30 min foot/neck massage to J pax which is quite generous.

The F lounge and ground services however are better than most in Asia.

If you can get one! On my last visit they were turning all new bookings away (I had a one hour wait). I popped in to one of the regular business/star gold lounges close to my gate and they made the J class lounge look pretty upmarket :(

That’s true, they are often busy but I had same experience with CX, JL and QF when trying to book massage as J pax (all of them offer less than 30 min yet still very busy).

BA's Elemis spa is next to impossible, but they do have good mini-facial treatments. Unless you get the foot massage, the wait for a TG neck and shoulder massage isn't worth it about 75% of the time.

I didn’t mention BA Elemis because never actually got to have massage there. Tried 3 times, all as QF F pax and their attitude was so arrogant that I just gave up on them.

Agree about TG, foot massage is usually very good while neck & shoulder depends on the strength of the masseuse. One good place to get neck & shoulder is EK lounge in DXB and waiting times are reasonable there.
