    Laptop screening - battery removal?

On a recent trip to Italy (May 2008 actually, so not too recent I suppose) I didn't have to remove the battery but did have to show the security screeners that the laptap would start up. As soon as the Windows screen came up I was waved through. Never had this happen in any other airport in...

    Visa on arrival for Indonesia

You just use A$ to pay the visa fee and you will get change in Indo Rupiah. Just have A$15 ready and then you won't lose much on the exchange rate. Try to avoid using your credit card as much as possible in Indonesia, they have very lax fraud security laws.

Lifetime Silver/Gold - Shortest time to reach

OK - total e-tard here. I have scanned the letter to my computer but can't get it to load onto my message as it keeps saying it is too big. It is a 65kb JPEG file. Anybody know how to get it smaller to load?

Lifetime Silver/Gold - Shortest time to reach

Checked my old paper statements and on 1 April 2001 I had 112 tier credits. I reached Life Gold in May this year so that is an average of 190 SCs per month over the past 6 years, the vast majority in discounted domestic Y....and people are surprised when my wife tells them that I am based in...

Personal Welcome from Qantas Customer Service Manager

Best welcome I have had from the CSM was at Singapore Airport in July when the CSM came into the First Class lounge and introduced himself to all of the passengers on his Sydney bound flight, QF32 (and politely wished those on the earlier Perth flight a pleasant trip) which was probably around...

    F baggage tags

Catch QF5 to SIN each month and always get F tags even though it is only a 2 class service. Bags always among the first out in SIN. Return on QF32 via the SATS Premier check-in also gets the F tags, but unfortunately the baggage service at Sydney is lousy with the bags arriving anytime...

    F Lounge Access with Plat

Re: F Lounge Access wtih Plat Chucksta, the Qantas/BA first class lounge in Singapore is in Terminal 1 whereas the SQ flights operate from terminal 2 which is not very convenient:( . My understanding is that you do have to be travelling on QF/BA or another OW carrier to use the lounge. I use...

Alcohol-related question for those who are SINing or have SINned ;)

Just had a look in the duty free shops downstairs in Singapore Airport - couldn't find Makers Mark. It is $27.20 per litre on Christmas Island at the supermarket (the whole island is duty free). Absolut Vodka (in all its flavours) is $13.10 per litre. Canadian Club whisky is $15.50 per...

Travelling with Garuda and using lounge at Denpasar

Flew Sydney to Denpasar on Garuda a couple of times in the last 12 months, the business class are uncomfortable as they seem to have a lump of 4x2 across the back of them  . The entertainment is also fairly limited. The staff (particularly the ladies) are courteous and eager to pls...

To recline or not to recline... that is the question

All economy class seats should be bolted fully upright. I hate having to smell someone else's shampoo or watch their dandruff fall on my lap. Urgghhhh.

    Disney World, Orlando, Florida

My first post so hope this actually works and apologies if it mucks something up. We (self, wife and 2 kids - 18 and 16) stayed at Disneyworld's Port Orleans - Riverside Resort at the end of September 2005 for 4 nights and could not fault the resort, Disneyworld transport or the parks we...
