Had to take a late golden triangle flight this eve (post 7.59pm) and just wanted to highlight that it is not a dinner service as people seem to be very sensitive to timings.
Cheese plate was perfect at the time…do prefer the Bethany Shiraz or Grenache to Heirloom but still quite drinkable.
Was a chicken dish with beans and a spicy sauce or tofu and noodles…chicken was ok and tofu looked too saucy with a white shirt like the laksa.
I have started dropping into the sushi place downstairs periodically.
I wasn’t a fan of the pork either and in the midst of eating the pork they removed all the other options which included the curry with poppadum. The crispy noodles are an odd choice and tough to eat.
It’s sad I’m actually preferring the Syd slop of late to MEL
Wouldn’t mind if the P1 and WP numbers dropped off a little. Some days the dom J lounges can be crazy then the next week deserted. Have been looked after quite well across my regular ports whether it be favourable rebooking on canceled services or wine to take off or notes.
I say why not…if you’re only a couple of hundred you’ve come so far
In terms of treatment it really comes down to crew but I value getting access to prime seats and just knowing you theoretically should have the best treatment in case of IRROPS or onboard. My travel is all work so there’s...
I can understand the sentiment from someone that doesn’t travel frequently pre dinner. For me this is perfect as I usually have dinner engagements and know what I’m getting into pre 5pm.
If you want a proper meal, use the resources on here to figure out when full meals are served
Did my usual Monday golden triangle and had a different rendition of cheese plate which I didn’t mind…different cheeses and accompaniments but wasn’t the ploughmans plate or cheese plate so maybe this is the new norm.
I wouldn’t…I normally have a great meal in LAX F lounge, grab a cheese plate and red wine then sleep till a couple hours out of Syd. Save your points for a better outright redemption assuming you’re emerald and above. If you’re not maybe do it to see the LAX F depending if you’re connecting and...
Had a few J flights around the east coast today
One service with lamb and potatoes or prawns with rice and greens…first time I’ve ever seen prawns mentioned…there seemed a lot of rice with this one.
Late evening service was southern chicken curry or lamb salad with chickpeas and lentils.
I...
No judgment from me…I don’t really want to be there either…just a function of catching the bus home on an evening mel syd shuttle. My interactions have been fairly limited to my selection so havent been able to comment much further.
I catch a mel Syd more than my local bus as do many other in...
To clarify, I’m usually around a 5 or 6pm service with multiple topups whereas this was a bit early so only one sparkling. I found the crew a bit lost as to what to do as usually they’re willingly topping up wine glasses. It wasn’t a criticism at all. One day we will cross paths and share a...
Came down early for a personal commitment so outside my regular golden triangle hours and didn’t mind the brunch service…crew have a much easier service when too early for wine service
Options were quiche pictured, bacon and egg roll or salad with prosciutto
I don’t mean to sound spoilt but as a weekly visitor I’m even getting tired of all the options. You can extrapolate how I feel about SYD’s offering from this. Been mostly having the curry and chilli con carne dish. Wouldn’t mind a more regular refresh
