Further Status Extension to 28 Feb 2023

I posted no emails from 2016/17/18. Your reading skills are sadly lacking. I was simply pointing out for the benefit of the many who have only experienced the kooky Velocity Status periods shuffle, that for 40 or 50 years all US plans have been CALENDAR YEAR, and how it works, Looks like...

Further Status Extension to 28 Feb 2023

. I guess 900 million American Hotel and Airline plan members must all be wrong. Anyway the obvious FACT Virgin has chosen a common Feb 28 to extend date, no matter what your Velocity Anniversary, points in that direction. Thank Goodness a common sense system appears to be underway. Yawn away.

Virgin thrown a lifeline for delayed launch of Tokyo-Haneda flights

I know this forum is awash with armies of starry eyed Virgin Groupies but if ANY of them think Bain has made one cent since they took over, let's hear them. Bain are opportunistic asset strippers and flick merchants. Buy, build it up fast if possible, and flog if fast for more than they paid...

Virgin thrown a lifeline for delayed launch of Tokyo-Haneda flights

. I suspect potential huge traffic to and from Olympic Games Tokyo was behind Plan A - announced many moons ago. :D They'd be insane to start any long hauls now. It will be a major miracle if they survive 2021even domestically sadly. Bain must be close to tossing in the towel as it has...

Further Status Extension to 28 Feb 2023

My wife and I both also got the Plat Feb 28 one. Our Anniversary dates were Oct and April as I recall. I am GUESSING that for once Virgin have taken this ongoing COVID mess, as an opportune chance to use some sense, and are bringing annual membership into a UNIVERSAL expiry date for ALL status...

    New Virgin Australia fare categories

All those $$ millions Virgin spent on ads in recent years saying the exact same thing are all wasted dollars now. Master Class stuff. An airline that itself has no clue what it is.

Well losing ALL checked baggage rights might be "nothing" to you.

    New Virgin Australia fare categories

Put American Hrdlickr in charge, and her American bosses, and we get dumbed down American spelling pretty fast - LITE Talk about lame. And the fare costs if it were HALF like Tiger, it might be a trade-off option, but clearly they are not. No sectors even count using those fares. DUMB...

Double SCs for bookings till 10/8/21 [travel until 28/6/22]

Yes, due to the never ending NSW COVID Hermit State situation, just needed to cancel a few bookings make under double SC offer. Wish I could use my ballooning Travel Bank to pay off the Mortgage! DARN sure when I re-book same routes, using monies I paid them during double SC period, no double...

Changes to VA seat plan ?

I think if they WERE planning to reduce space in row 3 etc, they'd allow Plats to use upgrades on ANY buyable fare bucket ... as indeed they did for much of this year anyway, and they extended that offer due to the low take-up it seems. We certainly used them even for Happy Hour fares. :D We...

Changes to VA seat plan ?

. Let's hope not. I feel sure to many Plats, this one especially, row #3 is near the primary Bennie in the system. Just cancelled a couple of late August Row 3 bookings today due to ongoing lockdown here. But something to look forward to in the no WiFi new world. At least you have space to...

15-20% bonus points on Amex transfers to Velocity until 16/3/21

Got same offer this week. Do I want to keep my US Dollars, or swap them for Cuban Pesos at near parity. Tough call. :D Would be surprised if anyone took them up on this, but strange things happen with point transfers.

Bonus on transfers Amex to Velocity (15-20%) until 25th August 2021

. Do I want to keep my US Dollars, or swap them for Cuban Pesos at near parity. Tough call. :D Would be surprised if anyone took them up on this, but strange things happen with point transfers. 1628732702 Yes in hindsight, the world's worst business deal, it now looks like.

    Velocity benefits on Delta

AFAIK when a DL Elite enters a Virgin lounge a charge is raised to DELTA. Certainly with Star Alliance members, that is what occurs. It used to be $US25 a person. Seeing Virgin lounges are open to lesser people now, it is a no-brainer income stream to them, I'd guess.

Status Extension to 2023 or 2024?

Seeing Qantas have just done it (and MANY foreign airlines) seems a no-brainer really.
