Hi AusFF team, I have booked accommodation with my Amex Explorer travel credit. The trip is not till September, but if I cancel my card now will the booking remain? The balance is zero. (I.e. is the amex booking a separate issue to me still having the card).

I've been lucky enough to secure approval to travel for my business to LHR. I'm looking at Booking a J award to Europe with Emirates during May 2021 Any thoughts on probability of me getting bumped if I'm using a classic QF reward rather than paying for the ticket?

I have linked my QF single use lounge invite to an upcoming Canberra flight, but have read that the Qantas club there is closed :( Unsure if anyone has had recent experience with this; Will they let me into the domestic business lounge instead? (or is it just going to be a wasted pass)

Agreed re: government inefficiency! The responsibility surely has to go to the equity holders thought.. if they are going to benefit from the upside when/if Virgin goes well, they have to accept the downside and put up more of their own cash..

I don't feel comfortable with my taxes going to a poorly run business that will likely continue to lose money. The benefit of having more competition is outweighed by a waste of my taxes. I think the foreign equity holders can prop up their own poor investment. Although only a minority...

Never thought I'd see the day. I always hold my shares even if going poorly and I almost treat ff points as such. Cashed out with a bbq, golf balls, jbhifi voucher and a pair of sunnies... would have much rathered a business class flight to SFO as I was planning :(

update- they gave me back the taxes (approx $700), but because cancelling broke the J award they only gave me back 34k points (definately not enough to get the equivalent J one way from europe to aus again) disappointing outcome..
