Definitely yes - just that you will have to pick pay now rather than pay at hotel (when you stay). Also make sure that the amount charged to your card is at least $300 (after applying any travel credits or point redemption)?to trigger the offer

You may consider if any of your friends/family members has an Amex ascent award account and agrees to “gift” you the MR points. It used to be a yearly limit of 50k MR points but not sure if it has been doubled following the “halving” of point value. Paper form required

How about 434k MR points in Nov (converting to 249,550 KrisFlyer points), then a further 900 MR points in Feb to get the Gold status from then until Feb 2023? Just not quite sure if the 250k Krisflyer points requirement would count the bonus points on conversion... From the FAQ of the linked...

Great outcome. Just for reference, I bought 1000 "miles" for A$40-ish(?) last time to extend the validity (before learning the "plain request" approach. Certainly not the best value but really minimum hassle and uncertainty should other attempts fail
