Passport Renewal / Application - Time Taken?

Applied on the 15th and received it yesterday. One week turnaround without fast track, very quick.

Why not book each leg on separate PNR?

I asked a similar question about multiple bookings/PNRs when planning my trip a couple of years ago. I ended up making separate award bookings from Aus to Europe and return due to the flexibility to cancel and re-book either the outbound or inbound leg without having to ring the call centre and...

    Lounge Access Help Desk

https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location=HKG For the CX and QF HKG lounges, the site states that there is 'Access for eligible customers traveling on any oneworld member airline'. I suspect you are looking under the Plaza Premium lounge section which states that only passengers...

Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

Same here. I wonder what would happen if I registered for DSC via app, didn't get the confirmation email, then registered for double points via the website. Was kind of tempted to find out but decided not to

Lets talk about the 787 windows

At least it's much improved from the earlier 787s. This is from one of the jetstar 788s, as you can see it's on max darkness and yet it blocks out hardly anything. Still prefer the normal window shades though.

DEFT rent payment on amex - earn points?

Not worth it for rewards points/gift cards, for me it's worth paying via deft where possible as I earn 1.25 QF points per $1. With a 1.5% fee, this equals 1.2c/qf point which I am willing to pay for. Guessing that's taking into account the tax implications otherwise I can't see how you can get...

Is all of Jan a blackout period?

Unfortunately even MU is blocked for the inbound leg in early January - absolutely nothing available from pretty much anywhere.

Trains of Japan - A Review Thread

Aso Boy - one of JR Kyushu's sightseeing trains, some of which have already been mentioned earlier https://www.jrkyushu.co.jp/english/train/index.html Did not have the chance to take it so I've only managed a couple of exterior pics

A couple of pics of the Sunrise express as per post 15. The Sunrise Seto and Izumo couple and de-couple at Okayama, many locals here watching the coupling process.

Shinano wide view This is a JR limited express service from Nagoya to Nagano. In that direction only, the front car (green car) has a nice view right behind the driver if you book row 1.

Tokyo Monorail - runs between Haneda and Hamamatsucho Is it a train? Maybe... but whenever I go to/from Haneda, I like to catch this anyway as we don't have a monorail in Sydney any more.

Trains of Japan - A Review Thread

Not too much to add that hasn't already been covered Kamome shinkansen between Takeo-onsen and Nagasaki (connects with a limited express relay kamome service which runs to Shin-Tosu/Hakata) Reserved seats Non-reserved seats To be honest, like with most new trains in the past 5-10 years...
