Thanks for telling me! Next time I'll unplug the fridge before opening the door ............ if I can get to the plug.

When is fraud, not fraud? [Car rental charges after return]

You have to be careful doing this. Many modern fridges have a sensor under each & every drink & their computer automatically adds it to your bill as soon as the sensor no longer detects the drink.

When is fraud, not fraud? [Car rental charges after return]

I've taken to taking a picture on my return showing the fuel gauge & odometer with the time/date stamp. Some people even take a video of the car in the rental bay return to prove they left it with no damage.

Annual fee [waived when 'threatening' to cancel?]

Yep, Macquarie Bank taking over resulted in almost doubling the annual card fee & halving the points earning. It has (presumably) been good for Macquarie's shareholders but bad for their cardholders.

Australia's 4 major airlines forced to make changes to refund policies in significant win for travel

Take a look at the link above provided by MEL_Traveller. Qantas appears to have been poorly advised when writing up their contracts of carriage: "Lavan Legal comment Although the High Court approved the notion that GST liability can arise on entering into a contract rather than the actual...

Australia's 4 major airlines forced to make changes to refund policies in significant win for travel

GST is a charge for Goods & Services & if you do not get on the plane, no goods or services have been provided other than the GST that relates to the "booking fee" itself. When you book a ticket direct with an airline you rarely see a "booking fee" listed in the taxes & charges. The airline...

Australia's 4 major airlines forced to make changes to refund policies in significant win for travel

Always remember, if you do not get on the flight the airline does not pay any taxes or airport fees for the empty seat. You are always entitled to a refund of these taxes & charges.

Another one bites the dust, Amex dumped by CBA

Makes it sound like the money that the CBA had to pay back to customers has made them so poor they can't afford to reduce their credit card fees. I'm on the lookout for a replacement card to the CBA Diamond too.

Another one bites the dust, Amex dumped by CBA

I wonder what our chances would be for a steep annual discount on the basis that we now only half the number of cards we used to have?

    Qantas Award Charges Outrageous

Because they can & I guess it helps them recover the cost of the better meals they (are supposed) to serve.

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

Any financial institution wanting my tax assessments from the ATO just for a credit card application can go jump. I hope you blotted out your TFN before giving it to them.

Govt cracks down on airport TRS rebates for Aust travellers

The vehicle then has to be made to comply with Australian Design Rules. This can be an expensive exercise. The windscreen must have the special compliance mark on it, the doors must have side protrusion bars in them, all the seat belts must be inertia reel type etc.

I would simply post the dress back. Mark on the label "used dress" & post it to your mum & dad's place. Value - well it it made to fit & it is used. Think about what it would bring at auction - probably no more than $200.

Another one bites the dust, Amex dumped by CBA

You can request a standalone ATM card from CBA. It is called a Keycard & has Cirrus & Maestro on the back of it. You can use this in any ATM that has Cirrus & Maestro signs on it & is a debit card only.
