Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Thanks for the heads up, need to repurchase some Savaterre after the apalling service from Carboot.

Interesting, it seemed to be reviewing quite well. I tried the Philips 18 and didn't mind it after a couple of days from memory, wouldn't open it young though.

Perhaps you are right... not sure what you are expecting from CellarOne - they tend to clear out of current vintage drops usually. It's uncommon for them (from my experience) to release cellared/museum releases, it has happened for some of the Stonier Single Vineyards from memory but the $40...

    The Chardonnay Thread

We did receive a response from Erez, but the replies have been a bit misleading and we suspect we might not ever get it resolved.

Appreciate the post though! Was worth a try given the pricing and lesson learnt for next time. Probably isn't too bad if you get it shipped, as it should avoid the storage issue - the packing from negociants says not to post between 12 to 20c so ironic that these guys just leave it sitting outside.

You probably did dodge a bullet, if I were to buy from them I suspect I would just pay for shipping to avoid their dodgy storage of the wines or pick up as soon as it is ready. It was clearly just drop-shipped from Negociants, they just slapped a label ontop with their logo. My biggest issue is...

    The Chardonnay Thread

Not sure I would buy from these guys again, drop ship operation out of a Keynards warehouse. To be honest I could live with that, but when we went to pick up our click and collect today it was sitting outside on a metal rack (28 degree day). Based on the photo they sent us for the click and...

The excitement seems a bit lost on me, $15 for the Blackwell doesn't seem as crazy as some of the other deals on here? Easier to scoop from Cellarone without the potential trouble? I probably haven't cellared mine for long enough, I found it nice enough but not something I personally need...

Anyone come across a decent deal for the Joshua Cooper Ray Monde Pinot?

Well the 3 VIP offers seem hidden from view until you search specifically for them.

@Dudditz thanks mate - good spot, split a case with a friend.

Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

First time trying something from PoCW, pretty interesting for their entry level bottle - intense nose, brambles, spice, red fruits... pretty decent finish that lingers. Haven't tried a pinot/shiraz blend before either. Probably should refrain from cracking open each new bottle that comes...

The Pinot Noir & Grenache Thread

We have quite a few of the Stonier Jimjoca at home, which isn't too far off in pricing from cellarone. I also liked the DCB Pinot that doesn't score as well as the Hoddles, but it's easy drinking. We probably haven't come across too many quaffing pinots, as I'd rather pay a bit more for...

Hoddles is also $22 in a case of 6 at Summer Hill Wine Store - I couldn't resist a bargain but I personally think 94+ is a bit high for this (maybe with more time?). It's definitely romping at $22, but it's not a bottle I'm particularly keen to eager to revisit quickly and I prefer other drops...
