For the last week or so, there has been no SQ reward availability either on Velocity website or available to the Velocity Call Centre. New SQ reward bookings cannot be made or existing SQ reward bookings changed. Call Centre can offer no date by which the 'technical issue' will be resolved.

Do we need to be concerned that there is a more serious issue between SQ and Velocity than 'some technical issue'? When will SQ reward availability be back?

This is somewhat concerning, but I would probably put it down to the ongoing problems with the Velocity website, rather than a deliberate move to block all SQ reward availability. I suspect that availability would return at some point, but I have no idea about the specific details of this issue.

Perhaps try searching for Singapore Airlines availability on their own website and calling the Guest Contact Centre if you find an available reward seat you want? Alternatively, there's always the option to convert your Velocity points to Singapore KrisFlyer miles. But I don't think that should really be necessary unless these problems persist.

Then again, sometimes it's simply a case of HUACA - hang up and call again, and you might catch a more helpful agent. ;)

It's also affecting the call centre. Unavailable online and on the phone. Tried HUACA. Agents are powerless.

I find it hard to believe so few have noticed. I would have thought this would be big news.

I can't imagine too many people would be redeeming Velocity points for SQ flights right now, considering they will become cheaper after 1 June.

Nonetheless, if this is the new norm then it's definitely a cause for concern...

Was mentioned in the "VA websites are rubbish thread" a bit. By me for example. I can't believe VA hasn't actually made some statement about it.

Wonder if it's been purposely cutoff by SQ? It does seem rather weird.....

Thanks all, we are aware of this issue and working with Singapore Airlines to resolve. The issue is caused by Singapore Airline’s Global Distribution System and we hope to rectify within the next 48 hours. If you need to urgently change an existing booking, please call our call centre on 131 875 and we will do everything possible to assist.

Any update on this? Still seems to be a problem.

I can see the point of having points / miles with both when a glitch occurs.

I've just managed to redeem an A350 flight online so it's working now...

I can see Business Reward seats SIN-PEN on MI available to be booked online for 23300 points (or 18000 +$34) on a random date.

I was trying to find some reward flights SYD-PEN, and had hoped they would just be in the one booking. Can do something like SYD-KUL all on SIA, but when you have to connect with MI it wont let you do it online.
