OK before I start this - please note this thread and the way that it is locked due overtly political discussion so lets keep this simple and play nice and tell us who you have seen whilst fliying or lounging. If you actually met them so much the better.
For me first Australian Celeb whilst in the SYD T3 QP this morning - the fat bloke from Blue HeelersThis is my first fliht of a mere 12 on the current DONE4 so plenty more scope for other celeb sightings.

I have my iPad... it is ... precious to me...
I sat opposite Judith Durham (former member of The Seekers for those of you too young to know or too old to remember) in the QC Lounge in Brisbane - & picked up & handed back to her an orange that fell off her plate, rolled across the floor & stopped against my shoe!!
...but wait, I've just remembered there's more - I flew from Melbourne to Adelaide in Y with members of Mental As Anything a few rows back!!
I saw Adam Gilchrist in the BNE dom QP on 21st Feb.
It was interesting to watch the way people chose to approach him for an autograph. One person just 'happened' to be choosing a magazine at the same time. Another sat three or four seats away and waited 10 mins or so before approaching him. Yet another simply fronted him and chatted.
For the record, I didn't approach him. I reckon it's bad form to 'invade' the privacy of celebrities during their 'private' time. Sure, approach him at the cricket or a public event but not in the QP.
It doesn't count according to these post rules but my closest brush with "stardom" was standing behind James Packer to get into breakfast at The Peninsula Beverly Hills and having the greeter ask James for his name and room number while she remembered my name and offered me "the usual table" because it was our third day at The Peninsula. So for a few seconds I was able to kid myself that I was more well known than Mr Packer...
But back on topic, I have sat across the aisle from Lachlan Murdoch on a flight from SYD-MEL and also Gai Waterhouse after she had had a win on a flight from BNE-SYD. I have also been in the lounge with Bernard Fanning of Powderfinger. All pretty minor when compared with James...
1. John Farnham and his manager 3 years ago boarding QF from Cairns to Melbourne flight. The FAs all recognised him and gave him a special welcome aboard and seated them in 1A/1B.
2. Russel Ingall in the Sydney QP 2 years ago.
3. Allan Border in the Sydney QP 1 year ago.
4. Plenty more, none of which come to mind now probably becuase I'm usually innebriated in any QP.
- Kylie Minogue in F on a QF London - Sydney (she used a VIP lounge though)
- The Veronicas on a QF Sydney - Melbourne fligh (plus QF club)
- Heap of reality tv / Aus Idol people QF Syd - Mel
- Heap of cricketers / swimming people when the championships are on - QF
Really though, if you fly Syd-Mel often enough on QF you are pretty much guaranteed to see some 'familiar faces' as there isn't another option in their eyes unless they have a private jet (a la Nicole Kidman!)
And now it's two in one day - the skinny Dr bloke who recommends you eat loats of veggies on Celebrity Overhaul.
I am not very good with names
And to clarify the rules and prevent descent/dissent into the other thread - I am officially declaring that politicians (current and former) are not famous![]()

All in QF J:
- Bob Hawke & Blanche seated across from me in row 2 ADL-SYD
- Chris Noth (Mr. Big from Sex & The City) 2 rows behind me MEL-SYD
- David Boone one row in front of me MEL-SYD (no VBs left when the trolley reached me!)
- Richard Butler across the aisle HBA-SYD
- lots of others I've forgotten I'm sure!
It coul be argued that some are.Originally Posted by simongr
