Featured Trip Report

Ten Days For Ten Years

Trip report by NoName | In June 2012, Mrs NoName & I were married at Four Seasons in Singapore and embarked on a 5 week honeymoon in Europe and NYC. Oslo, Prague, Paris, London & NYC! We had a fantastic time together seeing sites and experiences. It was a truly memorable time! We had booked everything with cash and in Y, attempting to find good deals so it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Of course, in reality the flights in particular were just a mish-mash of an itinerary which I’m sure could have been done more cost-effectively but lets just ignore that for a moment.

AFF Member Profile

This week we interviewed AFF member mbeder from Sydney, who joined Australian Frequent Flyer in July 2002 (happy 20th AFF anniversary for last week!) and has so far made 246 forum posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: Sydney-Brisbane for work in early May. Used the trip to gain a QFF Green Tier credit by staying at the Crystalbrook Vincent.

Q: Where are you planning to go on your next trip?
A: A long overdue family trip to Cape Town at the end of July - I was last there in February 2020. Other than a trip to New Zealand later that same month just before the borders closed, there have been no other international trips since then.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: Qantas as there's nothing like flying the red kangaroo (albeit white these days). Whether it a domestic or international flight, I still get a thrill flying on the national carrier.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Take note of the invaluable insight - there are so many topics covered. Search first before asking questions as you can often find the answers yourself. Be polite, kind and courteous.

Q: Favourite forum on AFF?
A: This has varied depending on my needs. My favourite threads in the past have included the ATO (tax office) payments by credit card, credit card deals, Qantas Wine advice and IHG Hotels that recognise status threads.
