Qantas Mulls Reward Flight Changes
Qantas is considering an overhaul to its Classic Flight Rewards to "better address the needs of customers". The enhancements would involve increasing the number of points required for some Qantas award flights. But award availability on some routes would increase to compensate for this. There would also be changes to the Qantas-imposed carrier charges that are added to the cost of reward flights.

Some of the proposed changes appear to be quite positive. However, this may be a case of "be careful what you wish for". While improved award availability is a good thing, you'll likely end up paying more to redeem Qantas points for flights as a result.

Amazing Virgin Sale to Hong Kong
There is currently an excellent Virgin Australia sale to Hong Kong, with cheap flights available from both Australia and New Zealand. Until Monday 3 December, you can book Virgin Australia flights from Melbourne to Hong Kong for as low as $481 return! You can bring the price down even further to $465.95 return by using a Virgin Australia discount code. The code HNV39 appears to work. But it's only slightly more expensive to fly all the way from New Zealand more...
To North Korea in Air Koryo Business Class
At Australian Frequent Flyer, we love reading member trip reports of obscure airlines that few of us will ever get a chance to fly. And this week's featured trip report by Chicken certainly fits the bill! This AFF member recently flew from Beijing to Pyongyang in none other than Air Koryo Business Class. For the uninitiated, Air Koryo is the national airline of North Korea. Based in Pyongyang, the airline operates a fleet of Antonov, Tupolev and Ilyushin more...

Upcoming Webinar:
How to Book a Qantas Oneworld Award
  webinar
The Qantas Oneworld Award is one of the best uses of Qantas Frequent Flyer points. For a fixed amount of Qantas points, you can fly around the world on Oneworld airlines with up to 5 stopovers, 16 flights and 35,000 miles travelled!

The Oneworld Award is available in Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class. At 280,000 Qantas points per passenger, a round-the-world ticket in Business Class is arguably the sweet spot.

The possibilities are almost endless when it comes to booking a Oneworld Award. But, for this very reason, it can be difficult to know how to maximise the value. Booking a Oneworld Award can also be quite complicated, as award availability is limited and these bookings can't always be processed online.

In the upcoming Frequent Flyer Solutions webinar, Matt will present a masterclass in booking the perfect Qantas Oneworld Award. This webinar is a must-see for anyone that wants to put their Qantas Frequent Flyer points to good use!

This webinar will take place this coming Wednesday, 5 December at 8pm (AEDT). Please note that you must register in advance to attend this (or any) webinar.
