Competition is a much needed tool to stop QF gouging its customers. Guess we will have to see but QF always over promises and under delivers so I’m expecting the new aircraft and seats to offer a subpar experience with woeful meals just like they do currently

I would give them a go but there frequency is just poor. We travel to Melbourne most weeks for the footy and only 2 daily’s at 0600 or 1730, just useless time slots for me. Can jump on one of the well timed QF or VA flights

QF could return to being a very good airline if they put the right people in charge

To get out of their current mess they should clean out the joint first. No good having all the current decisions makers as AJ clones and mates

It’s not so much a bad name now but there are a stack of people I know who didn’t realise they were Taiwanese based. If you mentioned CI to the average punter I’d be willing to bet many think it’s Chinese

Both have great J products IMO but I’m still amazed at how many people think CI is a Chinese airline and wouldn’t think of booking with them

My preference is rear facing seats and love airlines that have them

Flights to China are really well priced currently. More options to spend points is never bad though

Mantra Northbourne is better IMO but earns at a terrible rate which really doesn’t bother me much these days. I also reckon the Sebel Civic isn’t too bad either in that part of town. Unfortunately Canberra is really bereft of quality Accor properties

Not sure it’s manipulation when they offer a better network and a far better service than what QF does. As to the China issue whenever I’ve looked at prices QF has always been more expensive and quite considerably. Whilst I agree QF has a better overall product than MU I don’t think it’s worth...

I was looking at a short trip recently and one way QF wanted over $4k in J. MU was about $2.5k. Not a huge fan of CZ but they were doing 1 stops for $1300

I’m not even sure KUL would work. I don’t think I’ve been on too many MH flights to/from Australia that are at capacity and it doesn’t strike me as a route that would have much meat on the bone.

Be interesting to see if it would work. SQ is pretty established here and has built up some good will but if the price is right who knows. MH might be the one that suffers

I had the opposite on last visit but perhaps it was the SQ lounge dragon being a bit abrasive that dulled my view of it. Lounge was packed and food wasn’t great so we left and went to the NZ lounge which was almost empty, had friendly staff and food and beverages were excellent IMO

Rex need to get a stack more jets before they worry about International partners IMO. They simply don’t cover enough routes or have enough frequency on the routes they do have to be a consideration for me
