If you’re in the market for a new credit card, taking advantage of a great sign-up bonus points offer can be an easy way to earn tens of thousands of extra Qantas Frequent Flyer points in the process!
During June 2020, you can earn up to 150,000 bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points by signing up for a new Qantas points credit card. There’s also one credit card, the Qantas Premier Platinum card, that comes with 100,000 Qantas points and 75 bonus status credits as a sign-up offer! (This is one of several ways you can earn Qantas status credits on the ground at the moment, with status credit offers also available at BP and Woolworths supermarkets until the end of June.)
150,000 Qantas points is enough for 15 upgrades to Business class on red-eDeal tickets on domestic routes such as Sydney to Melbourne, or 30 upgrades from Flex tickets. It would also be more than enough Qantas points to fly around the world on Oneworld airlines in Economy class once international travel resumes.
Don’t forget that up to 125,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned from any credit card sign-up offer will also count towards Points Club membership. You’ll need to earn 150,000 Qantas points during your membership year to reach Points Club status, or 350,000 Qantas points for Points Club Plus membership, with no more than 20,000 of those points coming from flights. Qantas Points Club benefits include complimentary Qantas Club passes or membership and the possibility to earn status credits for Qantas-marketed Classic Flight Reward bookings.
By the way, if you happen to have points with a credit card reward program that allows you to transfer points to Qantas Frequent Flyer (such as Amex Membership Rewards, if you have an Amex Platinum or Centurion charge card), you can earn 25% bonus points and up to 150 status credits by transferring points to Qantas until 30 June 2020.
