Asia X-citement

Families may soon be ditching Queensland for Kuala Lumpur as their holiday destination of choice, with the arrival of international low cost- carrier Asia X. The Malaysian-based airline will soon be landing on Australian shores and may prove to be a valuable competitor in the international market.

Asia- x has announced its latest international route between Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur will begin on November 12, with one-way fares starting at just $199. The airline will initially cater for the Asia market but are set to extend their services to Europe and the UK.

The catch-cry of their marketing campaign has been that they will provide return airfares to London for under $1,000 in the near future. This is of course with the proviso that you do not travel at peak times and that the airlines London route is operative, which will not be until mid 2009. So the current marketing campaign may be a little pre-emptive.

The new airline, however, is sure to bring the world of international travel a little closer to the average Aussie.
