The Ultimate Frequent Flyer Reward - Free Space Travel

Here is one for those of you who have become blasé with the joys of travelling.  How about using your frequent flyer points for (almost) space travel?  Well, a Canadian frequent flyer is doing just that!
Nick Koulovasilopoulos is taking a trip as close to outer space as you can get without a space ship, for free using three million frequent flyer points he's racked up with American Express.  He will travel to the edge-of-space trip in a MiG-29 fighter aircraft that will break the sound barrier and allow him to view the curvature of the earth.

Nick has been a member of the American Express Membership Rewards program since 1989. It took him only about a year to accumulate the three million points he needed for the edge-of-space adventure. His trip to Moscow also includes a tour of Russian space centre facilities.

If you are interested in the real space travel - and can afford the $200,000 price tag - take a look at Virgin Galactic.

These innovative pressure and noise reducing ear plugs improve your comfort when flying.

FliteMate reduces or eliminate the painful effects of rapid pressure changes on your eardrums. This works by controlling the rate at which changing pressure is applied to the eardrum, giving your ears time to adjust naturally.

While FliteMates do reduce the amount of sound you will hear, you can still hear the important things like: Voices Announcements, Movie soundtracks, and Stereo headphones.
