This
week we interviewed AFF member robtemt from the NSW Southern Highlands. robtemt joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2016 and has so far made 567 posts. |
Q:
Where did you go on your last trip? |
A:
My last "big trip" was supposed to be nearly 26 days, SYD-LAX-SJO-LAX-HNL-LNY-HNL-SYD (in March 2020). It ended up being 12 days LAX-SJO-LAX-SYD due to the the border closure announcement. |
Q:
Where will you go when the current travel restrictions are lifted? |
A:
To the USA, as it is where I grew up. We usually go once a year to make the rounds, and not being able to see my family and lifelong friends has been really hard emotionally. Next bucket list though? Maldives. |
Q:
Favourite airline? |
A:
I
have to say Qantas (my partner is international cabin crew)... But, I've fallen in love with Singapore Airlines. The service and the seats are hard to beat in my opinion. |
Q:
What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member? |
A: Contribute back to the group. Find a couple of areas that you have experience in and can share with others. I've never been a platinum frequent flyer, but I am well travelled and have other knowledge and experience that fits with frequent travel. I like to share things I've learned to pay back for all the knowledge I've gained from this like-minded group. |
Q:
Favourite thread on AFF? |
A:
SQ
Tips, Trips and Tales. This thread helped me plan our first all-First Class multi-continent holiday. It saved us so many points/miles and helped us book some amazing flights and seats. We had the trip of a lifetime and it never would have happened without advice provided on that thread. The downside, though, is that I can't fly Y [Economy class] anymore. |
