Featured AFF Member Trip Report
7 weeks in Tokyo (and 2 in Quarantine)
Trip report by mel-world | I'm presently sitting in quarantine in Melbourne so thought I might write a brief report on 7 weeks in Tokyo for the Olympics and the Paralympics. The phrase "Out of the frying pan into the fire" comes to mind as I leave Melbourne in lockdown on the only flight of the day to Sydney and hence to Haneda after a 7 hours wait in an empty SYD airport. No shops open before check-in on the international side of the airport and only 1 snack bar after security - just crazy getting through this quickly. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week we interviewed AFF member Caversham04 from Adelaide. Caversham04 joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2013 and has so far made 325 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: My last domestic trip was to Langhorne Creek for a very pleasant weekend of wine-tasting (some delicious Malbecs!).

Internationally it was scuba-diving with manta rays at Socorro Island in Mexico, travelling via LA, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Most of the hotels in Vegas were going into the first covid shutdown on the last day I was there - being the only non-staff person on the floor of the casino was a very surreal moment.

Q: Where will you go when the current travel restrictions are lifted?
A: The UK to see friends and family.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: Singapore Airlines. Their schedules to the UK suit us and, being above-average height, we love that their booking system allows you to identify and lock in economy exit row seats before the final "Pay Now" page, rather than booking the flights and hoping for availability.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: You only live once so don't leave an ambition unfulfilled for so long that it becomes too late to do anything about it.
