to USA on Qantas' first scheduled flight in 20 months!

report by BensAdventures | So this is a trip report following my first international trip since March 2020, starting on 1st November 2021. On this trip I fly from Melbourne to Sydney, then onto LA, Las Vegas, Orlando (via Austin), LA (via Dallas), Sydney then home to Melbourne. Q:
Where did you go on your last trip?
|
A:
Port Douglas - using up some KrisFlyer miles for return MEL-CNS flights in Virgin business class. We managed to go in July 2021, exactly lucking out with one of those few times during 2021 when Victorians were allowed into Queensland!

Where are you planning to go on your next trip?
|
A:
Our
next trip, fingers crossed, will be our second 318k OneWorld Classic Flight Reward, to Europe and Japan. Both those places are endlessly fascinating to me. Europe also offers a lot of variety without too much flying around and hopefully minimising the number of COVID tests/potential issues. We are daring to dream after two years in lockdown that we'll be able to travel.

Favourite airline?

A:
Finnair.
There is something about the Scandinavian theme that I love, and to me it represents a trip to Europe which is my favourite place to explore. I even have a full set of their glassware in our house that we use every day (purchased not pilfered)!

What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member? |
A: Be open to learning, there is so much wisdom collectively on these forums. Also, never pass up an opportunity to earn points or status credits. Even if you're not sure how you will use them, they always come in handy.
