Briefly escaping the intra-state WA travel restrictions
Trip report by JohnM | Well, seeing I'm supposed to be a week or so into a 13-week DONE4, but most unlikely to be going anywhere overseas this year, I put into action a plan that has been lurking in the back of my mind for the last year or two: to change my sedan for a 4WD. read more...
The No Trip Report
Trip report by E Shirley | This is a trip report for a journey that has been cancelled. In previous years I have flown the same sectors to visit a friend while she was receiving treatment for bone cancer in her skull. This year's trip was booked last year before she went into hospital for the last time in December. She passed away at the start of the year, before any of us had heard about Covid-19. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week, we interviewed AFF member jastel from Cairns. jastel joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2012 and has so far made 495 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: USA. Main purpose of the trip was for the 2019 SEMA Motor Show in Las Vegas, but we also did a quick 1200-mile, 4-day Route 66, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion and Monument Valley loop in a V8 Dodge Challenger. Then flew to New York, Chicago and LA for a few days each.

Q: Where will you go when the current travel bans are lifted?
A: Anywhere on a plane! Only been as far as Rockhampton this year... and that was by car.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: Qantas. My travel is self-funded so I have to pick one company and stick to it. Looks like I picked the right one! They are Australian and they go to where I want to go... mostly.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Travel anytime you can. Look what this virus did. When you are 80 you will not remember that fantastic week at work you had when you were 40.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: There are many interesting threads on here. The ones where arguments start lose me pretty fast, I am looking for helpful advice or travel ideas not a fight or political debate... there are other places for that.
