Qantas Scenic Flight Over Australia Proves a Hit
Qantas raised more than a few eyebrows when tickets on a 7-hour flight to nowhere sold out in just 10 minutes. But when that flight took place over the weekend, it proved a huge hit with passengers including AFF members.

AFF Flight Tracker will be retired - your action may be required
After almost 8 years we will soon be retiring AFF Flight Tracker. This has been a very popular service used by hundreds of our members over the years. But it's an old application which is becoming difficult to maintain and incorporate into our next website update, so we have reluctantly decided to retire it at the end of October.

The bad news is that users of AFF Flight Tracker will lose their flight details once the service is retired. However, the good news is that you can very easily download your flight data and then upload it into another similar service not hosted on AFF. There are heaps of options, many of which are free. read more...
New website appearance
You may have noticed that the AFF forum has a new look & feel! The new style is based on the standard XenForo template and is better suited for some of the new forum features we will be releasing shortly. If you prefer the old style, you can still use it until the end of October by changing your settings. read more...
Featured AFF Member Trip Report
An electrifying road trip
Trip report by offshore171 | With no overseas travel this year, and the family car due for replacement, we recently pulled the trigger on a new Tesla. Our family trips are normally in the October school holidays, and this year had to be local in NSW. What we came up with was a country NSW "electric" road trip, and it exceeded expectations. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week we interviewed AFF member jeza, who joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2012 and has so far made 373 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: Other than a few days in Sydney in late 2019, my last trip was a first for me. In July/August of 2019 I used some long service leave to make my first visit to Europe after using info on AFF to book a Qantas Oneworld Award in J. Drove to Perth and then flew to Singapore where the Oneworld Award started. From there the route was Helsinki, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Vienna, Budapest, London, Amsterdam and then back to Perth via Doha. Was a fantastic experience!

Q: Where will you go when the current travel bans are lifted?
A: I would love to take the second part of the trip I mentioned above. In May/June of 2020 I was supposed to fly from Perth to Hong Kong and then back to Europe to visit Spain, Portugal, UK, Paris and finally Singapore to complete the Oneworld Award.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: Haven't flown that many different airlines but I'd say Qatar Airways. I had my first (and sadly possibly only) flight in an A380 and also got to experience the Qsuite with Qatar.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Don't lock yourself into a train of thought that this is what I'm going to do and how I'm going to do it. Be open to alternative and sometimes very creative solutions to your travel issues. This can help to maximise the bang for your travel buck and create an even better experience.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: The Oneworld Award planning thread assisted me in so many ways to book my own OWA flights and get the best value for & experience from my points. From the basic how it works, route planning, how to book, potential obstacles and what to do when things go awry - it's all there.
