Hi AFF'ers,

I find myself with something of a first world problem: which seats do I select for a journey with CX in J? I'm travelling MEL-HKG-MEL (sadly, no redemption availability ex-SYD for me to try out the shiny new J seating); I believe I'm travelling on a '33B' both ways (1x1x1 Sky Coffins, 1 main cabin and 1 mini cabin behind it before you get to the torture seats) and have basically no idea where to sit.

Last time I flighted with CX I was in 20K or something similar; there was nothing inherently wrong with the seat but should I try something else this time? If it makes any difference, the flight over is a day flight and the flight back is an overnight flight. I've thankfully managed to avoid the flight that goes via ADL (learnt all about that one the hard way last time).

Thanks in advance! :)

I prefer the main cabin, towards the front, not much difference otherwise (they seem to serve from the front), but not the first few as there is at times people hanging around waiting to go to the toilets.
Left side of the plane faces the middle row aisle. Right side faces the back of the aisle row, so you may prefer the right side for greater privacy.
Not much to decide for me other than being in the front part of the cabin

Anything as far forward as possible; my one and only CX flight was in 11A on a A340-300 the furthest forward left hand seat, there were no seat numbers with single digits, front of the plane started at 11.

Thanks to you both! Have decided to stick with 11A for the outbound, but have moved to 14K for the inbound flight. :)

I fly on that aircraft often and have to say I much prefer the quietness of the 2nd Business class cabin. Only 11 seats. My favorites are 22k, 23k, 24k, especially on night flights. Nobody walks past to disturb you - unless it is crew serving food/drinks. Being in the forward cabin - you have around 30seats and it can be noisy. Enjoy your trip!! :D

19K, 20K, 21K are at the back of the main cabin and only K's use the isle, so not much through traffic. Rear cabin was pretty much empty for both flights i've taken on the 333 and were used by cabin crew as their rest area.

Enjoy the great service!
