A Relative put his wifes title on the booking as Mr instead of Mrs, would it create problems? Thanks in Advance.

Can't speak specifically for Sri Lanka but its not a problem with QF.

I suggest call the airline as I'm sure that it happens regularly.

Should not be a problem.
I stupidly did this last year on QF and was told no worries.

I don’t think it bothers Qantas on Qantas metal but I did similar with an Emirates booking via Qantas and they cancelled and rebooked it - without a penalty.

I had the same experience with CX, where they changed it as there was concerns about transiting HKG with incorrect title.

Singapore -Colombo -London Returns, with Sri Lankan.

I can speak for Sri Lankan.

Trying to get a simple name error corrected (first name and last name swapped) was an absolute nightmare with them. Cancel (with penalty) and re-book was the only option they gave without quite a considerable email fight.

They did say that the error would probably not result in boarding problems but they could not guarantee it.

This was about 2 years ago. I hope things have improved.

I wouldn't even bother calling the airline as they may want to charge you to reissue the ticket which should not be required. Don't even mention it at checkin, just had over the passports. Not sure what checkin system UL use however Altea will allow a CSA to change a title eg from Mrs to Mr despite the eticket issued with the incorrect title.

I don't believe that your 'title' is part of your legal name, it would appear on your passport if it was. So if they try and sting you for 'change of name' fees then remind them that the title isn't part of your name...

Your gender does appear in your passport however. At least it does in mine (Australian).

But I agree. Especially with Sri Lankan, do nothing is probably the best approach.

I don't think the title is officially used to determine gender of PAX. If so airlines wouldn't know the gender of Dr, Admiral, Senator, Prof, etc.

True, but in the OP's relative's case it was "Mr" that was incorrect. It should have been "Ms".

I realise that the world is changing, but I think "Mr" is always considered male (?) while the OP's relative is apparently female.

Again, I doubt it will matter. Bigger typing errors than that seem to get accepted.

My point was simply that I think the title is of no relevance to airlines and immigration officials. As they get gender information from the passport.

That rings a bell. EK and AFF advised they get their info from the passport in the case of hyphenated surnames which invariably look weird on the booking.

I'd rather an option to not have to use a "title" at all.

Sorry in advance for thread drift but I cannot find a suitable thread.

I helped my daughter book her first unaccompanied OS trip on Etihad to Europe. It is an online booking. I made a rooky error and neglected to include her middle name in the booking, so just her given first name and surname. Her passport shows both her first and middle names.

Is this likely to cause any issues when she books in next week?
