In October I'm travelling to the US with a few colleagues on QF93 and they are already lobbying to leverage my WP status ;)

Does anyone have any successful experiences trying to guest more than one person into the QF F lounge? How strictly are the rules enforced?

How many is a few? You’d be lucky to get more than your +1 allowance I reckon and the lounges are getting busier anyway.

I agree with GoldCanyon.

I have never attempted it myself, but have read many reports of others failing. IMHO, if you visit at a quiet time, are nice, AND get very lucky, you may get a second guest in. Maybe a 10% chance. But legitimate guest +2 or more, forget it.

I would suggest you either (a) run a lottery amongst your collegues to get a winner who you guest in, or (b) get them all to actively bid hard cash to be that winner :)

Thanks for the feedback. It could be as many as 6 of us, but one is an SG so can slum it with another in the dungeon.

I may try to sweet talk with +2 with a fallback of using some J lounge passes for anyone that falls behind.

You'd probably be lucky to get one extra (maybe) but there's no way they're letting 5 guests in.

Assume only a +1. IMO a group of friends/colleagues have a lot less chance than an extra family member.
Are you raising colleagues expectations by saying that you will try?

I’m a P1 and tried to get my two just turned 18 yo twins into a very empty F lounge at 7.30pm last year and was denied. It was suggested I use one of my two F lounge passes but I’d already gifted those on this forum. Luckily we had the Emirates lounge to fall back on

You better pick your favourite friend.

SG can take 1.
You might be able to guess 1 maybe 2 to the J lounge, leave them there.
You take one friend into the F lounge.

I'd be telling your colleagues to look at finding lounge passes and/or QP membership if they want to enter a lounge.

Better setting the expectation straight then promising the world and getting denied entry.

(b) would be my choice; just tell them it's sort of like picking your favourite child - it hurts but there can only be one :)

Six of you? With one member being WP (you) and another SG. I read from that one will get into the flounge with you, another into the other thing that SG's get. The other two will not. As a P1 I would never even consider asking to get so many friends into the flounge. best of luck :)

As a WP I was able to guest in a second guest on one occasion. It was a quiet evening in the FLounge.

As a WP I can guest my kids in as well as my wife though, right? I have 2 kids, both well under 18. I'm travelling o/s with family on QF soon, for the first time since I've been WP. Previously tried to guest all 3 into the JAL F lounge in Narita and got a flat no, but I have heard QF has a different policy - that still is the case I assume?

From Frequent Flyer - Flying Qantas and Partner Airlines - Status Credits and Tier Benefits - Tier Benefits (Platinum)

Guest access
  • When travelling on a flight with a Qantas (QF) or Jetstar (JQ) flight number on your ticket Qantas International Lounge access is also provided to one guest and up to two children (aged 4 - 17 years)35 who are travelling with you on the same flight that day.

In addition to the link @RooFlyer posted, here are the oneworld lounge entry rules regarding children:
  • Infants under 2 years will not be counted as a guest when travelling with an eligible adult customer
  • Children travelling as a unaccompanied minor (aged between 2 and 11 years) who are eligible for lounge access, must be accompanied by an adult who will be counted as their guest
  • Children travelling as a young passenger (YP aged between 12 and 17 years), who are eligible for lounge access do not require an accompanying adult (Note: Subject to local licensing laws; in Japan the ages are 12-19 years)
Assuming your children were not both under two years old at the time, JAL were (unfortunately) following correct protocol.

Sometimes they are so strict they may even enforce the same flight although you're on the same flight.

You should be able to guest one into the Business lounge and one into the First lounge. The Gold colleague can also guest 1 into Business lounge so you're still 1 short.

If anyone has an Amex Platinum card then the Amex lounge is a possibility.

Good luck.

Good idea, I have an Amex Qantas Ultimate I could use.
