WP check-in at Heathrow T5

Hi all

I'll be turning up at Heathrow T5 in a couple of weeks, coming straight off a Royal Brunei flight from Brisbane, transferring to a BA flight to Glasgow.

Is there a dedicated (read: short) check-in queue for WP/Emerald FFs in T5? I remember there used to be something similar in T1 before BA moved, but it wasn't obvious at first glance.

BA tries to get people to use machines to check in at T5. There are World Traveller, Club and First check-ins (First is counters I believe - havn't been into that section).

Don't bother with going to the F checkin, just use one of the Club machines and then bag drop - you're only going to have one person in front of you at most (in my experience).

If you check in at Club, you are also very close to the South(I always get South and North confused at T5!) Security entrance. There is then a convoluted walk from there (down escalator and then doubling up on yourself) to get into the First Lounge. There is a door into the lounges on your right after security, but that's only for the Concorde Lounge. The lounges are well signposted.

BA will probably suggest that you use the North Club lounge (at the other end of the terminal) for your domestic flight, so might want to leave the First lounge with plenty of time to spare.

I don't believe First has a dedicated security point (they use the Fast-track), so you're not going to save time.

I am starting to avoid the F check in T5 as it is right at the end of the terminal past all of the security points - right at the opposite end to the hire car drop off point...
