If I correctly recall an email, until 8 September 2017 Woolworths Rewards cardholders can receive 200 points for every purchase of News Ltd newspapers such as 'Herald Sun', 'The Australian', 'The Weekend Austrralian' and so on.

Effectively for say a 'Herald Sun' weekday cost of $1.60, it gives cardholders (at the conversion rate) 87 Qantas Frequent Flyer points if one opts for those instead of the Woolies $10 off shopping for every 2000 points accumulated.

This appears a good offer, especially if one likes reading the papers.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Are you sure it wasn't targeted?
I never got that email.

perthjay85, two others I asked who live in Melbourne, with different shopping habits to mine received the email.

You're in Perth with 'The West Australian' owned by Kerry Stokes and not News Ltd. That may explain the non receipt.

It will be interesting if those who live in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney also received it.

From memory 'Geelong Advertiser' was also included so where News Ltd has non-capital city newspapers, it may also be an 'active' offer.

I got that one last week, I'm in Melbourne

slinky123, how does spending $1.60 (for a 'Herald Sun', and if it's the same price, 'Daily Telegraph') to receive 87 QFF points compare with other offers currently available?

As I buy papers such as 'Weekend Oz' regularly and sometimes the 'Hun', it's a bonus.

An unhelpful post that adds nothing to the discussion. If you don't like a particular product, there's no compulsion to buy it. News Ltd papers remain the most popular in Australia.

I couldn't care less about the newspaper. I just wonder why it has to be "If I correctly recall an email" instead of actually quoting the T&Cs.

I deleted the email. My memory didn't extend to every one of the named newspapers, but the date stuck.

For the last few days, each time I have purchased the 'Hun' or 'Oz', I have received 200 points (plus the minimal points for the cost of the papers.) It appears OK to buy both together, and receive 400 points as the 'bonus.'

Personally I think its an awful offer, especially compared to other offers going around, I never seem to get those higher type offers like these: ( From the woolworths thread over the last couple of days)

Week 1 spend $50 get 1,000 bonus points or Week 1 spend $85 get 1,4000 bonus points
Week 2 spend $50 get 1,000 bonus points or Week 2 spend $85 get 1,4000 bonus points

I just got a mega boost bonus email, 58000 points to spend $180 each week for 4 weeks,

My offers usually consist of buying a specific product, Over the last few weeks Ive had:

Newspapers
Muesli Bars
Cat Food
Laundry Detergent
Cat Food
Uncle Toby Oats
Designer Cat Bowl ( LOL)

At least I do get offers, none of the other 3 cards in our household ever get offers.

Back on the topic of newspapers though, the offer would be good for those who buy papers daily :)

The devil is in the details.

But it's true, the devil is in the detail.

Some of these bonus points offers are single use, others are unlimited.

It's better to have the full detail to avoid disappointment.

Ah fair point on that account.

perthjay85, you might however have expected to have received an offer for the 'Weekend Oz' as that is distributed nationally (and often has West Australian stories in it and the classic lovely full colour photos of say a graingrower explaining how his crop is going.)

Unfortunately not, I keep a keen eye out on all deals posted to my inbox with a special interest in flybuys / Velocity and Woolworths / Qantas in the titles.
