Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

Regarding the possibility of an annual fee, I will ring NAB if they charge one and ask if I can keep the card fee free being a NAB shareholder. My other NAB card is free for this reason. Alternatively I'm happy to pay the annual fee simply because of the travel insurance that comes with the card.

Fee on my no annual fee for life = Class action pending!
Don't get me wrong. I still think that cardholders have been treated very shabbily.
The words "without any admission of liability" are used in the email/letter than I received.
Feel free to consider what that means.

Yep keep at them, state the clause in the terms and conditions

No one has been treated any differently yet, at least in regard to an annual fee, so I don't understand how you can say, think or feel that "cardholders have been treated very shabbily". You're jumping at shadows.

If you want to argue any changes to the card, go and do so about their removal of certain transfer partners. No one liked that but there was plenty of notice so everyone had the opportunity to make provisions to avoid any loss.

Only a matter of time sadly.

The foundations have been laid.

The snuck something below most cardholders' guard.

Rather shabby imho.

To repeat my earlier post:

This is/was the risk of waiting while having used their card.

Extracted from page 7 of their credit card terms and conditions document.

You’ll accept our offer and agree to the terms of
your credit contract:
• when you or an Additional Cardholder uses
your Account or uses or activates your Card
(this includes us debiting your Account to
process a Balance Transfer requested by you);
or
• by following an acceptance method we may
make available after you submit an online
application. We’ll let you know if we make this
acceptance method available.

I used the word "deemed" or "deeming provisions" to refer to this kind of legal mechanism in earlier posts.

Elsewhere in their terms and conditions document - e.g. page A38 - they reserve to themselves the right to charge fees and charges whenever they see fit.

I work with these kind of provisions all the time.

Do these provisions mean they will win against cardholders? No, but it gives them arguments to muddy the waters.

In my view, the best time to approach them was before the date Citibank transitioned to MyCard -i.e. before these MyCard terms and conditions became operative.

Here is an example of what I mean:

To quote FL360 from this thread on November 25, 2025:

"For you all, yesterday I have asked NAB CS if I can continue to have fee free for life for Mycard Premier. I had been a fee free for life for Citi Premier, today they call me back and say they will start charge me the annual fee. Hence I have cancelled the card straight away. I also told them I have never received written correspondence of this detrimental change to my account. NAB is pissing me off in this now as now I will have less intention to consider refinance my mortgage to NAB in the future.

Also I have asked if this annual fee now applies to everyone who was fee free for life, the answer from CS is yes. (I could be lied to, happy if anyone to correct me if I am wrong)."

"They call me back and say they will start charge me the annual fee" despite the fact FL360 held a fee free for life Citi Premier card.

Yeah, imho they treated FL360 very shabbily.

As to their current and future intentions, FL360's report back to us is very clear:

Also I have asked if this annual fee now applies to everyone who was fee free for life, the answer from CS is yes. (I could be lied to, happy if anyone to correct me if I am wrong)."

Now I could be wrong but I don't think FL360 will say that I am "jumping at shadows".

No, you are not wrong, in fact, the Commercial Team in NAB is going to charge you a $10,000 annual fee starting from next week, so you should really cancel your card before this weekend.

Your comment is inconsistent with what I have in writing from NAB.
The majority of your comments on this subject have not been helpful for cardholders.
Quite sad really.
And your flippant response speaks volumes.
