Which to keep - Explorer or Plat Edge?

I have both cards and was intending to close the Plat Edge before its anniversary next month. Now I'm wondering if I would be better off keeping the Plat Edge so I remain on the Ascent program, rather than keep the Explorer for the better points earn.

What have others done/what would you do? The Explorer is currently my everyday card, so whichever I keep will be my everyday card. My monthly spend isn't huge - only about $1500, and only a few hundred of that on groceries/fuel. Currently have 203,000 points sitting in Ascent which I intended to move out prior to closing the Plat Edge, but if I keep the Plat Edge I will probably leave the points there for now.

It doesn't answer your question but Ascent, Ascent Premium and Gateway programmes are being merged as part of the April changes. I'd say the Explorer is definitely better as a day to day card - the 0.5 points per $ on the Edge is significantly worse than most good Visa/MCs

Ah, thanks PM. I clearly skimmed over that part as I had no idea they were merging. That changes everything!
