HI All,

I bought myself some GV's at the start of the year - is there somewhere in the 'My Account' section (or elsewhere) on the QF website where a record of these lives? And if they have been redeemed or not?

I've of course got the email confirmations but just cant remember which ones I've used (or not)??

Thanks!

They aren’t really attached to your account. The email is what you need with the PNR on it.

The idea of gift voucher is that you buy them as a gift for someone else. So, they don't automatically get attached to any FF account.

I know what you mean but I'm pretty sure many on here buy them for themselves to use at a later date - regardless it would be good to have a list of them, and whether they have been redeemed or not, linked to someones account.....

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

They can be added, it's just not automatic. Anyay, try to redeem them - you'll find out soon enough if you already have!

To get them to show up in my account I’ve in the past used the manage my booking function of the BA website. This allows you to add your QF frequent flyer number to the GV PNR

Edit. Seems the BA website has been updated and this no longer works

I rang Qantas once looking for mine because I couldn't find the email and they don't have any record because it isn't attached to a booking so it's very important to keep the email with the PNR

They don’t until the FF number is entered when making the actual flight booking.

Your other option is to create a spreadsheet or other file with the PNR's in it.

I have one with the date they expire, the PNR and the amount. Easy to keep track of.

Residual gift vouchers used to be linked to my account but I haven't had one of these for a couple of years.

With normal gift vouchers just go to redeem the voucher and you'll know if it has already been used.

The difference is:

Residual GV's are issued against existing bookings which, 99% of the time, have your QFF# attached(since few people would have bookings linked to another FF# that then get residual vouchers I would guess - and those would not be looking for them in a QF account anyway I doubt). So yep, residual vouchers will show up under "my bookings" because of that.

GV's do not have a FF# assigned when they are created (really, QF could add an optional field to the GV creation page when you purchase and give the name and email address of the recipient to also enter an QFF#, in which case it oculd then be populated).

As noted above one can add them in via BA MNB and possibly AY as well and then they will show.

@RichardMEL, the current gift vouchers I am using to book flights do have my frequent flyer number attached, name, phone etc. These were purchased in February.

But do they show in your profile before you’ve converted to a flight?
No they don't so don't quite understand the difference between gift vouchers and residual gift vouchers. FF number is not the reason.

When you buy a voucher, there is no reason to populate the FQTV entries (as the travel will generally be by someone else). Once you book an actual flight, FQTV gets the travellers frequent flyer number.

So your FF number needs to be in the right spot.

When I book a flight the FF number is already there so not already in the right spot?

In my experience, when purchasing a GV, there is initially no FF number associated with the booking reference. Once the FF number is added, it will stick with it.

When do you 'add' it? When using for a booking is one method. There have been other methods inferred upthread.

I think that might be your browser filling it in. I always have to enter it myself even if I’m logged in at the time. And none of my pre used credit card details show either.
