We're visiting Western Europe in July 2017 for NSW School Holidays for 2 pax. Flying from Sydney and wanting to visit Paris but will be primarily based in London. I've managed to book SYD-AUH-CDG in F class with EY for 1 July. So the going route is sorted.

I've managed to book LHR-AUH in F class with VA flying on EY for 13th July, leaving 3pm on the A380 so I've managed to get to middle east.

I've confirmed DXB-SIN-MEL departing 14 July @ 20:00 in F with SQ however 1 pax is waitlisted on DXB-SIN and they don't seem like they will let it to clear given it only has 4 seats in F. This also requires me to book MEL-SYD with QF/VA costing an extra 16k points per pax.

I can see 1 seat for LHR-AUH-MEL leaving 14 July however this doesn't guarantee a second seat will clear. And once again requires a domestic ticket to get from MEL-SYD.

I've also found availability in F for BCN-DXB-HKG with EK but stuck getting from HKG-SYD as QF availability is horrible.

We need to be back by at most the 16th July, and preferably didn't want to leave Europe earlier than the 14th of July.

Should I just waitlist as many flights as possible and just hope something will clear?

I can see two J award seats on EY AUH-SYD on 13/7. Given that you are struggling to find/confirm 2x J/F awards into Australia, I'd suggest you take these and adjust your flight from EU - ME accordingly. Interestingly, these seats show up when searching from CDG, MAD, BRU but don't show up when searching LHR-SYD.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Now I've got two options:

LHR-DXB (EK A380 J) -> DXB-AUH (Chauffeur) -> AUH-SYD (EY 777-300ER J)
or
LHR-SYD (SQ 777/777)

I really wanted to get a suite this trip, as I feel the 777 a little lacking so I'm really hoping for a seat to open up on A380. Given SQ have more flights I like my chances there more (however it has no shower/bar).
