I booked a trans-Tasman flight yesterday and got to the payment page, entered all my card details and then the webpage went into hang mode finally returned "too many redirects" with some handy tip about clearing my cache. I had to go back to square one. Did it all again and it worked.

Just did another booking and found that hitting 'okay' for seat selection did nothing. Clicked again, nothing. Finally it started to look like it was doing something before I ended up with

Unfortunately we've experienced an error while processing your request.

To continue with your booking, we suggest you try one of the following:

  • Clear your browser cache, restart the browser and try again.
  • Use an alternate desktop browser or visit our mobile website.
However if you still encounter issues, please contact our Guest Contact Centre to complete your booking.

I'm someone who does a lot of browser maintenance so it's not a problem at my end. I find the website is getting clunkier and clunkier. It's been awful for the five or so years since the upgrade but I had become used to its quirks and had work-arounds. But errors like this when I have to go back to square one have me checking the Air NZ website.

It's the 'continue' button, not 'ok' as I wrote above. It seems to take several clicks to make it work. Then it's a lottery.

I use Chrome as my main browser, fat with plugins. I also have a stock Firefox install and use that for ticket booking of any kind, I find it works better (and with the added bonus of not tracking my cookies from previous flight searches done in Chrome)

I haven't found the VA site to be worse than other ticketing sites, they all error out at some point sometimes

I’ve been getting errors on the mobile website the last few days.

I get this error with seats I have booked direct with VA, but seats booked through a TA for work I can access. Very frustrating.

Yes! I've been searching a lot of different flight combinations today & I had to clear my cookies repeatedly because I was getting messages saying that my request couldn't be completed online and to call. Yet it worked 30 seconds before when I was looking at a different date. If it happened in the middle of when I finally found a reward flight to book to LAX that wasn't in the bloody MILLIONS of points I would have lost my little mind. I use chrome as my default browser. Only plugin is an ad blocker which isn't usually and issue on the VA site.

Had the same problems earlier this week. Took about 4 attempts before it worked. Not doing seat selection during the booking seemed to help.

Seat selection seems to be a bug. I click on the desired seat, nothing. Click again, nothing. Click again then double click and it sometimes selects. Then "next flight". Repeat process. Then to continue from that page takes about five clicks before a double click - you shouldn't have to use double clicks on a website. Tedious.

I just made another booking with the same problems. Then I got to payment which hung there for ages then finally I got this screen.

Tried again ignoring seat selection this time. Got a very long lag before it finally confirmed payment. Not great. But I got there.
