Hi all,

I am a big gunners fan and keen to see a big league match next season. However it seems that almost every home match at the Emirates is sold out. Does anyone know the best way to purchase match tickets ?

Would it be through a TA ? Can anyone recommend one in Melbourne ?
Can a CC concierge help ? I don't have Amex Centurion but I have Westpac Black and ANZ Black which is supposed to come with a 24/7 concierge service etc. Are these any good ?

Any other suggestions or recommendations ?

Look forward to hearing from someone who has managed to secure tickets before and how they did it etc.
Happy to pay for a more expensive match ticket if this means I can secure a seat etc.

Cheers.

No idea, but maybe try contacting the club direct and pleading your case as an overseas visitor and fan? They may have a small reserve they use for situations like this? Oh, and go the coughnal! :)

You can always try the CC concierge. Won't take much time and worst case scenario is they can't get their hands on tickets.

You have to know the right people, we were at Chelsea last year. Very hospitable people they suggested this method for overseas people obtaining a ticket. Going cost you though!!!!

Well people are usually very hospitable after they take you for a few Gs lol out of interest which match did you see and how much did you pay ?

Did you get a package with accommodation etc or just match tickets ?

Nizar, save yourself the angst and go watch Liverpool in Brisbane or Adelaide in a couple of months time. There are big clubs and then there are BIG clubs......;)

Liverpool...oh please. Other than that freak result in the champions league 10 years ago the only thing they have won is the is the Mickey Mouse Cup in 2012,but hey you did put up a great challenge in the premier league last year, great to watch. But seriously back on topic if you are after Saturday tickets at the Emirates you might struggle but mid week you are probably in with a shout. I hope we put up as good a challenge as you did . Go gunners!!

coughnal are now a good little Cups team so you won't have much of an issue getting a ticket for any matches other than when the real contenders come to North London. Matches when their season has petered out (March onwards) especially so.

Ticket touts are endemic at all matches so simply walking along the Holloway Road an hour before kick-off with ~£100 in your pocket should easily get you a seat (same as at any ground). League Cup and pre-Xmas Champions League games will be half that.

coughnal often put the 'Full House' signs up but there will be empty seats all over from season ticket holders not having turned up.

Note that a membership is different from a season ticket over there. Membership quite often allows the right to buy a one off seat (and no waiting period), whereas a season ticket gives you entry and the same seat each week (and can take years to be eligible).

I had a ST at Chelsea for the past 6-7 years before coming home last year so I'm aware of how it all works.

Can't believe I am helping an coughnal supporter.
I went to the UK last year specifically to see my beloved Spurs play at White Hart Lane.
I;m not sure whether the gooners have a deal with stubhub but Spurs do and you can get leftover tickets that way, but they are not cheap.
So I starting following a guy on twitter who retweets tweets from genuine Spurs season ticket holders who can't use their seat for a game and they usually are prepared to resell it to you at face value price. so in the end I bought a ticket from a genuine fan for about 40 quid.
Do a search on twitter and see if there is a similar person doing the same for Emirates stadium seats?

I became a RED member a few years ago and have now attended about 10 matches at Emirates while in London on various trips.

Interesting. Can you please elaborate on your experiences ?

How much does RED membership cost ?
Have you attended any big games at the Emirates ? (I'm interested in gunners v Manchester United as a mate of mine who I'll be going with is a man United supporter).
For big games, how early can you apply for games ? How early do you have to apply to have a realistic chance to get tickets ?
How does the ticket application process work exactly ? Do you know what you're getting from the outset or is it a lottery like process ?

Thanks mate appreciate your help

The annual membership is about GBP40, including postage for the membership pack to AUS. The ticket prices are fairly steep, but for once or twice a year I can cope.

The coughnal tickets site will tell you what date the tickets will open up for RED members for each match. I make sure I am on their site at the local equiv time (eg 10am London, so evening here) when the tickets go on sale for a big match. There won't be any harder matches to get tickets for than ManU, but if you are on their site the minute the tickets go on sale to RED members you will have a good chance. You select a section (I usually look for somewhere behind the goals) and if they have tickets they will tell you what seat numbers straight away.

They also have a scheme to resell members seats when the member cannot attend (I have done that once). I have never failed to get a ticket for a match that is on while I am in London.

So far have seen them play Spurs, Villa, West Ham, Hull, West Brom to name a few, and I was also at Emirates for a win against Napoli in the EUFA champions league (a mid-week match).

Regards,

Ken

Did you manage to get to Sydney to see Spurs play?

Mate I had surgery on the Monday before the game and was unable to fly nor do much for two weeks after. absolutely spewing. Would have been there in a heartbeat if I could. Did you? Was it good?

The seat I got from the Spurs fan at WHL was 7 rows from the fence right behind the goals at the Park Lane end albeit against Palace.

Nothing quite like an EPL game though, is there!

In addition to my visits to Emirates I have been to EPL matches at West Ham (to sing the "Bubbles" song) & Charlton (where they sang "Red red robin"), to Championship matches at Nottingham Forest (singing "City Ground" to Mull of Kintyre) and an FA cup replay at Fulham (Craven Cottage). All great experiences, and manage to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!

Can't believe you helped a gooner........ ;)

Also if you are a member of a local supporters group, (like ozspurs) they have contacts with the club and when overseas supporters get to a game they usually help out, so go down that path too.

Not sure how that would play out with games like Manure or Chelski, but most games are not a problem.

Looking forward to the draw coming out in a few days, I've got a Europe trip or two to see what games I can squeeze in.

COYS TTID.
