Hi All,

Apologies if this has been asked before. I tried searching but couldn’t find anything.

Does anyone know the rough timeframe for the launch of the Qantas Points Club? All I can find is that it is set to launch in 2020. No specific dates.

I was holding off to transfer a stack of Amex points to Qantas, if the incentives were good, but now I’m undecided if I will transfer them to Asia Miles instead. They have a 10% bonus promo and new ‘no expiry’ policy (with activity).

I assume the Qantas points club is unlikely to launch, given it has been over 6 months since the media release.

Thoughts regarding Asia Miles? Are they worthwhile for OneWorld redemptions?

Cheers

I was thinking about the Points Club last night and was myself going to post a question to this forum. Let's see if our fellow AFF'ers have got some intel on this :)

Asia Miles - this is CX's program yea?

I read a post on AFF yday on this - a member transferred his AMEX points to CX rather than QF - because CX showed greater availability on all cabin classes when QF only showed Y

From that perspective, I understand that it makes more sense to transfer to Asia Miles. However, I didn't read that article in full.

Will search the link and update this response soon

EDIT : LINK TO AN EARLIER POST - This might throw some light :)

Unless you specifically want something that Cathay/Asia Miles won't get you - Emirates redemptions, maybe? or even premium Qantas awards if you have status - I would think for the same transfer rate you'll get much better value out of Asia Miles.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
