Virgin Money 2 for 1 Offer and SC's

Using the Virgin Money 2 for 1 Offer I assume SC's are credited to both flights as normal given the flights are simple booked with a 50% discount. Can anyone confirm ?

So I logged into my bookings, input my travelling companions vff no. And after the flight got points and sc. Via family pooling.

However, experience with others has suggested against adding the second persons Velocity number in at time of booking if they also have a Virgin Money 2for1 card as the system will deduct the available 2for1 flights from both Velocity accounts.
Best way in that case is to add afterwards online.

Thanks everyone. Don't want to miss my Platinum renewal by the skin of my teeth because I used the 2 for 1. That said I don't own a gold mine so can't afford to pay full price for all of us just to maintain my status either.

After booking but before flying. I presume the credits get deducted at some point during the booking process - but don't know for sure.

Entered both our FF numbers in at booking. I received 284 + 284pts (plat) and 20 SC. Pooled from wife's account into mine, received 284pts and 10SC. I thnik I was a little short changed on the points but received more SC's. Very happy with the overall result!

Correct points.

$122.50 - $4.50x2 CC Surcharge = $113.50
Individual fare = $113.50 / 2 = $56.75
Points for Plat = 5x56.75 + 5x56.75 = 283.75 + 283.75
Points for Red = 5x56.75 = 283.75

So they rounded up.

What happens if I do more bookings before the usage is reflected. This would potentially allow you to use more than allocated if it was done quick before the use is applied ?

My experience has been that both counters decrement instantly - ie refreshing my velocity page before the agent has hung up the phone often shows the counters have fallen.

Obviously, your experience doesn't match mine!

I even went to the point of clearing the browser cache and rebooting the machine. Interesting.

The last time I made one of these bookings was about two months ago. So given the outages over the past month haven't resulted in any improvements to the site (from the customer's end at least) I can only conclude they've been spending time inserting bugs into the few parts of the site that do work, in order to give members a consistent experience in all their interactions with Velocity .

I'm not sure how you did this. The terms clearly state that you must be one of the 2 passengers travelling. Effective you can only use 1 2 of 1 per booking/flight. Well, unless your on the booking twice.

The '2-for-1' is one-way, so a return flight with someone would use two of the 2-for-1 sectors, and then upgrades both ways for both pax would use four complimentary upgrades.

Thats correct. Taking my wife this trip so used one 2 for 1 out and a second coming back. Then upgraded us both in both directions.
